Lara was a great guide and knows a lot about the history of Barcelona. We loved the flexibility of being able to change schedule as we went.
Wonderful first time tour of Barcelona made most convenient by the guide and a driver who picked us up at the cruise terminal at a convenient time. We started with views rooftop views over the city to get the scope. We then visited the Foundation Joan Miro, a lovely small museum, saw 3 fantastic houses/buildings by the artist Gaudi, and roamed the Gothic quarter. Went to a lovely restaurant for lunch recommended by our college student/art history major guide who grew up in Barcelona and knew the places and architecture, though lacked detailed historical knowledge. We walked Las Ramblas, visited the market and had delicious ice cream Saw the La Sagrada Família cathedral but didn’t have tickets to go inside as the tour operator would not obtain them even as a separate charge. We also could not get into Park Guell without advance tickets and ran out of time to just drive by. However, there is so much to see in Barcelona, the day was filled with many fabulous places and scenery. It made us want to visit again.
