Spend the day with your driver exploring Aegians landmarks and highlights. he first part is an introduction to the islander’s life. You will embark on the local ferry boat and enjoy a one hour sail through the crystal blue Greek waters. You will have the chance to snap beautiful pictures with a breathtaking view and prepare yourselves for an authentic Greek island experience.
After crossing Aegina’s port you will make your way to the temple of Athena Aphaia which is a classical temple of Doric style dating back to 500 BC. This temple is an architectural jewel of immense historical and cultural value and it is also considered to be the model behind Iktino’s and Kallikrati’s inspiration of the famous Athenian Parthenon.
The church of Saint Nektarios who is considered to be a modern saint since he committed numerous miracles during his lifetime. At this point you can choose whether you would like to make a short stop at the old monastery and explore the history behind this great figure of the Orthodox Church.

Had a lovely day on Aegina Island. After the ferry trip, we visited the temple of Aphea (very beautiful and lovely view) and the church of Agios Nektarios and then had some spare time in Aegina town for shopping and lunch. Our driver/guide - Giorgos - was very friendly and nice and gave us a lot of historical information as well as lunch recommendations. He very much contributed to our enjoyment of the trip. Would recommend this tour if you want to spend a nice day out of Athens.

We had a great day with our driver George. He picked us up (family of 7) in a very comfortable luxury van and we traveled to Aegina by ferry. Along the way, he explained some history/facts and pointed out sights, which we loved. Our family was most interested in visiting the Agios Nektarios church and monestary, and spent a good amount of time there. When our son requested to visit another one further up, George was happy to take us. He also turned out to be our family photographer when coming upon a breathtaking lookout. We had a beautiful lunch on the beach at a great restaurant he suggested (Taverna Tassos) and finished in time to head back to the ferry. If we had wanted to, we could have spent less time there and visited the ancient sites, pistachios, etc. but this trip was exactly what we wanted. We would like to travel with George next time we are in Greece to Meteora. Thank you!
