Porto: Tile Painting Workshop with Porto Wine (Sé do Porto)

Here’s a polished version that keeps the humour and personal feel: An excellent activity to share with my daughter. Neither of us has an artistic bone in our body, but we absolutely loved it and are very proud of our final creations! Our ‘teacher’ was incredibly helpful, patient and encouraging. The tracing of the design was probably the most ‘challenging’ part — although the port may have assisted my creativity along the way! 😂 Such a fun and memorable experience to do together. We would definitely recommend this activity!

This was great! A great way to connect with friends, your creativity and history/culture of Portugal. Helpful to know- after painting you have to wait 30 min after the class to come back for your tile, or you have to come back the following day (due to the finishing process).

A fun and enjoyable time. our instructor Beatrice was vivacious. Her explanation of the brief history of of tiles in the culture and quick painting tips made it very enjoyable. I would be happy to do it again.

I really enjoyed the tile painting workshop! Great guidance, lots of different patterns to choose from, and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with aircon, port wine, biscuits and nice chats. You also get your finished tile back the same day, with only a 30-minute wait while you enjoy an espresso. Such a fun and creative experience. Definitely recommend!

A great evening with good music, nice people, and an art practice that can be something for young & old, for big & small, for everyone. The artist who accompanied us through the evening was very friendly and engaged with the participants; he was always on hand with a few tips and tricks.

Ditto the praise of other reviewers! I wanted to add my bit because Beatriz was such a warm and welcoming instructor! She made me feel right at home, and gave a helpful and concise overviews of Azulejo culture and production. Additionally, Domus Arte is a charming shoppe, tucked in a winding alley in the shadow of the gorgeous cathedral Sé do Porto. Now I have a beautiful hand-painted tile in my kitchen, a wonderful reminder of a worthy artistic adventure in Porto.

This was a great activity appropriate for all ages. The instructor was knowledgeable and friendly. We had fun talking to the other participants and enjoyed the snacks, including Port wine. We would encourage anyone to try it so they can have a unique keepsake.

More involved than simply painting tiles, our girls aged 9 and 11 loved it. Great experience they'd love to repeat, designs provided or create your own!

The location is tucked slightly away from a main street where you walk into the cutest shop and they direct you downstairs to the class. You pick out a design from PLENTY of options and use contact paper to trace the design, making it perfect for even beginner artists! The instructor is super helpful and will help each person individually if he sees anyone struggling! You do have to wait around an hour after finishing to come back and pick up the baked tiles, so try not to get too far away. However, the location is super close to tons of things to do so this was not an issue. Perfect souvenirs!
