Planet Sarajevo Multimedia Museum

Amazing place, so interesting and a must visit for anyone in the city.

Planet Sarajevo was genuinely one of the most interesting and enjoyable experiences we had in Sarajevo. It’s completely different from a traditional museum — rather than simply looking at objects and reading information, you’re taken through the story of Sarajevo and what made the city so special during its golden years. I especially loved how many different elements of Sarajevo’s identity are brought together in one place. You experience the incredible story of the 1984 Winter Olympics, including the interactive bobsleigh experience, alongside Sarajevo’s legendary music and rock scene, film and television, football and basketball achievements, architecture, industry, art, design and everyday life in former Yugoslavia. The Infinity Room with the music was a particular highlight, as were the original recordings, archive footage, photographs and stories of the remarkable people who helped shape the city. The interactive screens, virtual reality, holograms and even the AI experience with Emerik Blum make everything feel alive rather than like you are simply reading about history. What I appreciated most was that it showed us a side of Sarajevo that, as visitors, we probably would never have discovered otherwise. You start to understand just how influential and creative this city was — from its musicians and filmmakers to its athletes, architects, entrepreneurs and the people behind the 1984 Olympics. The whole experience is beautifully put together, modern, immersive and full of personality. The staff were also extremely welcoming and passionate about what they have created, which added a lot to the visit. I would absolutely recommend Planet Sarajevo to anyone visiting the city. Even if you normally aren’t someone who spends much time in museums, this is worth experiencing. You leave with a completely different appreciation of Sarajevo, its people and its incredible cultural legacy. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

I have to admit I was shocked by the high level of professionalism. I was lucky to meet the lady who is behind this project and who, by the way, returned from New York. I was also surprised by the abundance of multimedia offers there. Thirdly, I have to underline that if you have been in Sarajevo, but have not spent some time in PLANET SARAJEVO, you cannot claim you were there! Here you see Sarajevo's soul, achievements of the citizens; you can even participate in the Olympic game by bobsleigh. Visiting PLANET SARAJEVO is something every single visitor must visit. Congratulations to the staff and author. WOW.

This museum is such a vibe! It tells you a different story about a time of hope and development, in a period of time which is often overlooked because it's between two awful wars. I mostly appreciated how the exhibition is meticulously crafted and aesthetically pleasing. And it's full of information too! You could easily spend an entire day inside this museum: it looks small but there is just so much interesting stuff to read, watch and interact with that you don't even realize how much time is passing. Special thanks to Edina, the author of the exhibition. I was lucky enough to meet her, and her joy and enthusiasm were so contageous that i enjoyed the museum even more because of it. She told me so many interesting facts about the yugoslavian Sarajevo, and even showed me a couple things that weren't included in the ticket. You can really see the passion and the effort that she put in this work of art. It's definitely worth a visit!

An excellently designed museum that shows the rich history of Sarajevo and its cultural splendor in a special and authentic way. Recommended for everyone who wants to better understand the spirit of the city.

For those who want to learn more about music, film, sports, acting, literature, this museum is the right thing to do. Through videos through audios and pictures, this is conveyed to the visitors. Especially those who should celebrate Bosnian rock.

We stayed here for about two hours and then came back before closing for another two. Would fully recommend doing it this way because we got to learn some surface things (like the drama about taking down the city square (basarsya?)) and then we went to those interesting places and saw them in a completely new light. It was so fun! Inside, you think it will be a bit overwhelming because it covers a long amount of time, however the atmosphere is really nice, even relaxing, because the screens and the interactiveness of the experience let you take a deep breath and journey through time in a really nice, organized way. Despite it being very tech-heavy (the screens, VR, the room with the performance...) you still have quite a few nice physical objects from the times and it really feels balanced. I especially loved the music part! 😍 It was so fun to take photos and listen to some really nice tunes 💃 We didn't get the VR ticket, because I get a little sick with those, so we got to have a full day's worth of learning and fun for only about €10. How excellent! Would recommend for everyone wanting to experience the city, rather than just learn about it.

A museum very different from what I saw especially regarding Sarajevo! Absolutely to do if you are visiting even for 1 weekend! It’s really great to do it with friends , we came out of Planet Sarajevo with a wonderful energy and beautiful images full of heads! I think I'll do it again next time because there's so much to see and learn 🙏

It was really fun. We paid 25bam, about 13 euros, for the VR addition and it was well worth it! We got a daily ticket, which allowed us to take a break with the browsing, and come back later, so that was also really great value. The experience inside was so cohesive. We had no clue about anything Sarajevo related really, this was recommended by our tour guide and it was perfect for us, true beginners You get to experience everything! From football (my husband's favorite part! They have original 80s game footage, how cool!) to economy. I particularly enjoyed the music and movie sections. They were so interactive and engaging. The staff even gave us a piece of advice which created some super nice selfies with floating records! We came to Sarajevo for the first time but this museum really cemented that we would be coming back. Would recommend anyone who's looking for something out of the ordinary to do in Sarajevo to visit! You won't regret it. I know we didn't 🤩

Planet Sarajevo completely impressed me! It brings back the atmosphere of the city history; presents the music, economic growth and lighthearted humor of that era, Sarajevo Winter Olympics, iconic athletes, and all those small cultural sparks that colored life of that time. The visuals are excellent, and the VR bobsled ride feels incredibly real and genuinely thrilling. This multimedia museum takes you down a true emotional lane, the kind that makes that era feel familiar and almost like an old friend. Whether you’re from here or just visiting, if you want to feel the true spirit of Sarajevo as it was during Yugoslavia’s golden years, this tour will take you there!!
