Regularly featured on TV and in the media, this unique tour unlocks the hidden history of Castlehaven through its placenames—revealing Viking traders, Gaelic chieftains, and long-lost ways of life.
Discover names like Carrig na Saighneoirí, a tiny headland named after the medieval pilchard fishermen who made the O’Driscolls and O’Donovans as wealthy as European royalty. Your experience includes a gourmet picnic of West Cork cheese, smoked seafood from Union Hall, and Celine’s home baking, making this an unforgettable blend of culture, history, and artisan food.

Amazing experience for all ages !
Conor took our familiy on a guided walk , he kept all age groups entertained , it was really fabulous with the added bonus of storytelling and coffee and home made biscuits at the end , we would highly recommend this for all ages. If we had attempted this on our own we would have only made it part of the way with lots of bickering.!

The Best Walking Tour in West Cork
The major highlight of our trip to Cork has been a walking tour with Conor of Gormú Tours, “Placenames and their Amazing Stories in West Cork.” Conor had his work cut out for him trying to balance both my and my husband’s endless questions, alongside our five year old daughter’s desire to run and play, and he did so beautifully. It was quite literally the perfect day—I learned so much! It’s incredible to see how much passion Conor has for his home and for the Irish language, and to get to benefit from his wealth of knowledge. Our tour ended with the most delicious picnic of local artisanal foods (including strawberries that had been picked off the vine only hours before!), and boiled fruitcake made by Conor’s wife that can only be described as life-alteringly good! We are already looking forward to going on some of Conor’s other tours next time we make the trip to Ireland. I cannot recommend it enough!
