Description

Discover why Boston's North End is one of America's most beloved food neighborhoods on your Pizza, Pasta and Pastry Tour. Stroll charming cobblestone streets while enjoying generous tastings of authentic, award-winning Neapolitan pizza, handmade pasta, and classic cannoli from beloved local, family-owned eateries. Come hungry, leave full. Your expert local guide will share the fascinating stories behind Boston's Italian immigrants, the neighborhood's rich history, architecture, culinary traditions, and the chefs, families, and entrepreneurs who continue to shape its vibrant food scene. Unlike many food tours, most of your tastings are enjoyed while comfortably seated inside the restaurants, with individually plated portions that give you time to relax, savor each stop, and soak in the atmosphere. With small groups, leisurely walking, and insider recommendations, you'll experience Boston's North End like a local—not just through its food, but through the stories that bring it to life.

North End Food Tour
  • Food & Drink: 5 Generous Food Tastings + 1 Curated Italian Wine Pairing (or non-alcoholic alternative)

Itinerary

15 min

Once the site of Boston's elevated Central Artery, this beautiful ribbon of parks was created as part of the historic "Big Dig." Today, it reconnects the city with its waterfront and features gardens, fountains, public art, and spectacular views of Boston's skyline.

150 min

Boston's oldest residential neighborhood and the heart of the city's Italian-American community, the North End is a charming maze of narrow streets, historic buildings, family-run restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and specialty markets. Rich in both Revolutionary history and culinary tradition, it's one of Boston's most beloved neighborhoods.

Pass by

Built around 1680, the Paul Revere House is the oldest remaining home in downtown Boston. As you pass by, discover what life was like for the large Revere family and how this remarkably preserved home offers a rare glimpse into the North End's colonial past—long before it became the vibrant Italian neighborhood we know today.

Pass by

Originally built in 1804 as the New North Church, this Charles Bulfinch-designed landmark later became a Catholic parish serving Boston's Italian-American community. It is also closely connected to the Kennedy family—Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy was baptized here, and her funeral Mass was held here more than a century later.

10 min

This peaceful brick-lined promenade connects many of the North End's most important historic landmarks. Framed by tree-lined walkways, public art, and views of the Old North Church, it's one of the neighborhood's most picturesque gathering places and a perfect spot to appreciate the blend of Revolutionary history and modern-day Boston.

Pass by

Best known for the famous "One if by land, two if by sea" signal that helped launch Paul Revere's midnight ride, the Old North Church is Boston's oldest surviving church building. Beyond its Revolutionary history, it remains an active Episcopal church and one of the city's most iconic historic landmarks.

Pass by

Once one of the busiest working ports in the world, Boston's waterfront has welcomed merchants, immigrants, and revolutionaries for centuries. Today, it offers stunning harbor views while reflecting the city's rich maritime heritage.

Hidden Gems in the North End!

Amazing tour! It included five stops, one more than other North End tours- one pizza, 2 pasta, 1 bakery and a special cappuccino!! We had sit down service is all but the bakery and there was a surprise wine tasting! We even learned factoids about the history of the North End and how it became known world wide! I highly recommend this tour!! And Jillian a is a great guide!!!

A winning tour with amazing food!

Wowee zowee! I’ve lived in Boston for over a decade, and still this tour taught me so much about this city I call home. The food was fantastic and the tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. This was my third tour with Bites of Boston, and I will definitely be back for a fourth! Great value for your money, and a rockin good time

Operator response

The Perfect North End Food Tour

I absolutely loved the Pizza, Pasta & Pastry tour! The food was fantastic, but what really made the experience special was our guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and accommodating, and made the whole tour feel effortless and fun. I’ve been going to the North End for over 10 years, and somehow we still wandered down side streets and discovered little corners of the neighborhood that I didn’t even know existed! It was such a fun reminder that there’s always more to discover in Boston. You can really feel the passion and care that goes into these tours, and I love supporting a local, woman-owned business that has been part of Boston for so many years. If you think you already know the North End, take this tour. You'll eat really well and probably will be surprised about what you discover!

Operator response

What a wonderful review — thank you! We love nothing more than showing someone who already knows and loves the North End a side of the neighborhood they haven’t discovered before. After all these years, those little streets and stories can still surprise you! We’re also so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your guide and, of course, all that pizza, pasta & pastry. And your kind words about supporting our local, woman-owned business truly mean a lot to us. Thanks for seeing and appreciating the care we put into these experiences — we hope you’ll come explore another neighborhood with us sometime!

Very Full & Very Happy

As a Boston local, I’ve been to the North End plenty of times, but this tour made me feel like an insider. A few of the places we visited are spots that are usually packed at night, so getting to walk right in and enjoy their food as part of the tour without having to fight for a table was such a treat! And WOW, do they feed you. When I've done food tours on my travels, usually you get a small bite of something, but on this tour you had actual plated food. Plan on eating a light breakfast and don't make dinner reservations for that night! Everything was delicious, but the Florentine cannoli was literally life-changing. I’m still thinking about it. If you’re local and think you’ve already eaten your way through the North End, I’d absolutely recommend giving this tour a try. I discovered some new favorites and left VERY full and very happy!

Operator response

Now THIS is how we like our guests to leave the North End — very full and very happy! 😊 We especially love hearing this from a Boston local who already knows the neighborhood. One of our favorite things is showing people that there’s always another story, hidden gem, or new favorite to discover, even in a place they’ve visited dozens of times. And we couldn’t agree more about coming hungry — those generous portions are very much intentional! So glad the Florentine cannoli earned ‘life-changing’ status. Thanks for such a fantastic review and for spending the afternoon eating your way through the North End with us!
