Piton de la Fournaise Volcano Private Tour with a Driver Guide

An unmissable experience if you are staying on the island for a few days. Ludovic was an excellent driver and great company and a guide as well. He told me many things about the island, and the tour even lasted a little longer than the scheduled 7/8 hours because he accommodated me by quickly stopping at two beaches along the way as I had wished. The Creole restaurant for lunch was also very nice. Not tiring at all. Adequate stops. Everything perfect.

We arranged a few days tours with this wonderful company. Ludovic, our driver and guide, was with us for this tour. He was of course punctual and equipped with everything needed. It was a very scenic drive to get to the volcano. We made some stops along to the way for some viewpoints. The scenery around the volcano was amazing. Truly spectacular. The optional hike to the volcano would be challenging if you’re not fit. It is 400 stops down, some of which are steep. Going down is fine but coming back up is where it can be tough - but you should have enough time built into your trip if you want to do this. I personally enjoyed it. The location is very surreal. Thank you so much to Ludovic and the company for arranging this tour for us. It is one of the most memorable trips the island has to offer. Highly recommended company.

Looking for a private shore excursion on the island of La Reunion we found 5Atransports in the internet. We decided to book their Piton de la Fournaise Volcano tour and couldn't have done better. On the day Ying picked us up from the portgate at the arranged meeting time and gave us a wonderful private Volcano tour. Ying was very personable and full of information. We loved seeing the picturesque landscape, vast lavafields and deep craters. We would highly recommend 5Atransports for exploring La Reunion.

Since we came to La Reunion on a cruiseship we had only one day to explore the island. We decided to use 5Atransport for a private tour to the volcano Piton de la Fournaise and couldn't have done better. Ying, our driver and guide for the day, picked us up from the cruise terminal on time and gave us a wonderful volcano tour. She was very friendly, personable and full of information. We loved seeing the different landscapes, lavafields and craters. We highly recommend Ying and 5A transport.

Ludovic gave us a fantastic day out! We discussed the itinerary with his company through the Viator website before we left the UK...so that was all sorted beforehand (this company are very flexible - just book the trip closest to your requirements and discuss any changes before you go. If you've no set ideas, just trust Ludovik to take you to the best places!) The car was new and spacious, so it was very comfortable - that's important as there is a lot of driving . The island was bigger than I had expected, and, due to it's mountainous nature, there is only one main road around the coast and a smaller one across the middle, so you have to take circuitous routes to get places. Once is the area of the volcano, it was very scenic and we could enjoy walking around, taking it all in. Because we decided to leave out the museum, Ludovik took us to see some lovely viewpoints and sights along the coast on the way back. Ludovik has a very friendly and easy-going personality. He loves living on Reunion and is enthusiastic to show it to visitors. In the end we must have been out 9-10hours - a long day & a lot of driving for Ludovic - but a great day out for us! Much appreciated & highly recommended!
