I’m Pilar, a NYC photojournalist, licensed tour guide, and true New York lover. On this photo walk, we’ll explore iconic spots and hidden corners while you learn to capture real NYC moments—no tourist clichés. Every season brings a different mood: golden fall light, winter shadows, spring color, or summer street energy. I’ll help you work with light and composition in a fun, relaxed way. English & Spanish. All cameras are Welcome.

Amazing day. We loved that Pilar took us to somewhere out of the way in New York that tourists don’t usually go. It felt like we were the only people in the city. It was so beautiful and we captured wonderful photos and made excellent memories. We highly recommend Pilar
I could not be happier with my experience with Picture the City. Pilar met me on time, discussed my goals for the experience, and we got going promptly. I brought a VERY old camera but she was patient and encouraging as she showed me how to use it. She took me to a spot I’d never been and I got some great shots for a beginner, if I do say so myself. She confessed at the end of our time that she was a little under the weather. I never would’ve know it. I definitely got my full two hours worth. 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic experience today, we both really learnt a great deal. We chose to explore the Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo area and had a fantastic time learning about how to use the cameras, adjust our angles and capture more meaningful moments. Pilar is a very patient coach, very willing to share her knowledge and experience and an absolutely delightful companion. Thoroughly recommend this tour.
