Itinerary

This is a sample itinerary. All schedules are subject to change. This award-winning brewery is the largest producer in South Jersey. Just a stone’s throw away from Old City Philadelphia and the Liberty Bell, it’s a must-visit for any thirsty beer enthusiast in the Philly area. And here’s a fun fact: Flying Fish was the FIRST virtual brewery back in 1995 (yes, the 90s!) with its very own website, making it a true pioneer in the beer space. The key words when describing Flying Fish beers are “balance” and “sustainability”. Their beers are full-flavored yet highly drinkable, and they’re still innovating to this day with their brand new canning and bottling operation, where our guides will walk you through the brewing process from ingredients to your glass. Join us on a behind the scenes look at this state of the art brewery complex that’s crafting some the most sustainable beer in the nation!
50 min
Unlike many of the local Philadelphia area breweries, steeped in rich traditions that span decades, Double Nickel is the result of Head Brewer and Co-Founder, Drew Perry’s, hard work and commitment to the crafts. Drew has been brewing beer his whole professional life, working his way from the packaging line to head brewer. But the dream was always the same: to return to New Jersey and start his own brewery. After tireless hours brewing and carefully cultivating flavors, he made that dream a reality when he transformed a defunct fitness and spa center into 22,000 square feet of beer producing behemoth.
50 min
Founded upon humble beginnings in 1995 in a 900-square foot facility in Manayunk, Yards Brewing Company has grown into one of the area’s most prolific breweries, churning out some of the most popular and widely distributed beers in Philly. Since it’s inception, Yards Brewing Company has relocated three times and now proudly overlooks the Delaware River in Penn’s Landing. Their nod toward English ales is deeply rooted in history and blends colonial traditions with modern day flavors to produce beers fit for the founding fathers. A must-stop for learning about the progression of colonial beer as you sip presidential flights in a rich, historic city.

Double check the time of the tour on the City Brew Tours website
This was the first thing that I did when I arrived in Philly and it was a perfect way to kick off my trip!
Tim was a fantastic guide and picked stops based on what the group liked. He was full of information but also just a fun person. It was a smaller group, and by the end of the evening it sort of just felt like we were all hanging out.
Please note - I took the tour on a Wednesday, and it started at 5:30, NOT 4:45 as it states on Viator. I called the contact number because I thought I was lost, the person I spoke with said that the tours on weekends start at 4:45 and during the week start at 5:30.

Sam was great
Went to three different breweries and Sam showed us around and had a good time. He was very knowledgeable. Would recommend this to somebody and take them on it. Also found out that they do stuff for special celebrations like anniversaries or wedding gifts.

Fantastic tour led by knowledgeable staff!
We had a fantastic tour. A christmas present from 2023, we finally got it on our schedule. As we sought to schedule and re-schedule, the franchise owner was extremely accommodating. He ended up being our guide on our tour today. Darren is extremely knowledgeable about the process and history of brewing. Had a fantastic time.

Must do even for long time craft beer drinkers.
Sam was amazing. I’ve been on countless brewery tours and have tried over 2500 beers. His extensive knowledge of the brewing process and everything that goes into making beer was AMAZING.

A lovely walk in Philly with great brews and food
did the tour with our guide Dave and a father and his two sons. Dave was fantastic, a lot of information about the history of beer, the breweries we were touring, the brewing process and the beers that we sampled. Great group and a lot of fun. Highly recommend this tour. Look forward to doing another and some different breweries. some excellent beers and a great burger at Roy Pitz/Liquid art. Also visited Love City brewery and Yards, which is a philly institution.
