Petra, the Rose-Red City, was the impressive capital of the Nabataean kingdom whose ruins remained hidden to most of the world until the Swiss explorer, JL Burckhardt, disguised as an Arab scholar, infiltrated the city in 1812. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Meet your private guide at the site and hike or ride a horse down to the entrance of the Siq, a long, winding sandstone canyon that leads to the Treasury. The tour continues to the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater and the Royal Tombs.

An unforgettable day between Petra and the Dead Sea

There are days that simply end with returning to the hotel, and then there are days that continue to live in one's memories for a long time. Our day discovering Petra and the Dead Sea definitely belongs to the second category. It was one of the most beautiful and significant experiences of our trip to Jordan, a perfect mix of history, culture, spectacular landscapes, and moments of authentic wonder. In just one day, we had the chance to see two places completely different from each other, but both capable of leaving a very deep impression. Making everything even more special were the people who accompanied us during this experience: our very talented driver Issa and our guide in Petra, Ali. Petra — a place that leaves you speechless The visit to Petra was undoubtedly the most exciting moment of the day. Before arriving, we had seen photographs, videos, and documentaries about this extraordinary place, but nothing can truly prepare you for the feeling of being there in person. Petra is not simply an archaeological site. It is a place that manages to convey something difficult to explain. As soon as you begin to walk through the Siq, with its enormous rock walls rising on the sides of the path, you get the feeling of slowly entering another world. The landscape is incredible. The shades of the rock change continuously with the light, going from intense red to orange, from pink to brown, creating a combination of colors that seems almost painted. And then comes that moment that everyone waits for. At the end of the Siq, the Treasury slowly appears before your eyes. It is impossible not to stop for a few seconds. Even knowing already what awaits us, seeing the Treasury in person is a completely different experience. The dimensions, the details carved into the rock, and above all the natural context that surrounds it make this moment truly magical. An exceptional guide: Ali Our experience in Petra was made even more interesting by the presence of our guide, Ali. Ali was fantastic. He did not just simply point out the monuments to us or tell us some general information. He brought the history of Petra to life through stories, explanations, and details that allowed us to understand much better what we were observing. Thanks to him, we were able to look at Petra with different eyes. Every facade, every rock, and every structure seemed to have a story to tell. The thing we appreciated most was the way Ali managed to explain history in an interesting and engaging way, without making the visit heavy or too academic. He was always available to answer our questions and seemed genuinely happy to share his knowledge. He also left us the right amount of time to admire the places, take photographs, and simply enjoy the atmosphere. This made a big difference. Petra is a huge place rich in detail, and having a knowledgeable guide like Ali allows you to appreciate it much more deeply. A city carved into history One of the things that struck us most was realizing that Petra is not just the famous Treasury that you see in photographs. Behind that facade is an entire city, with streets, tombs, temples, dwellings, ceremonial places, and an incredible amount of evidence of the past. Walking through this immense archaeological site truly gives the impression of crossing centuries of history. It is impressive to think about the ability of the ancient Nabataeans to transform the rock and the landscape into such a sophisticated city. Every corner seems to offer a different perspective. Every step leads to a new discovery. And the more you observe the details, the more you understand how extraordinary the work that was necessary to create this place is. The trip to the Dead Sea After our visit to Petra, we continued our journey toward the Dead Sea, and the drive itself was part of the experience. This is where our driver Issa comes in, who made the travel very pleasant and relaxing. Issa was professional, punctual, kind, and always available. The thing we appreciated most was his attention to us throughout the day. It was not simply a matter of taking us from one point to another, but of ensuring that everything went as well as possible. Issa's safe and calm driving allowed us to relax and enjoy the scenery during the travel. After an intense visit like the one to Petra, it was truly pleasant to be able to sit down, relax, and watch the landscape change before our eyes. The Dead Sea — a unique landscape Arriving at the Dead Sea was another completely different experience. The landscape almost seems to belong to another planet. The mountains, the shades of the earth, the enormous expanse of water, and the unique atmosphere of the area create a truly one-of-a-kind setting. The Dead Sea is not only famous for its history and geographical location, but also for its absolutely unique natural characteristics. It is one of those places that you want to see at least once in your life, simply to be able to say you have been there. We really appreciated the tranquility of the landscape and the opportunity to stop, observe the surrounding environment, and take photographs. The view is spectacular and represents a wonderful contrast to the rocky and historical environment of Petra. In just one day, we therefore went from an ancient city carved into the rock to one of the most unique natural landscapes on the planet. Issa — a truly excellent driver Even though Petra and the Dead Sea are naturally the stars of the day, we absolutely must dedicate an important part of our review to Issa. Having a good driver during a trip to Jordan really makes a difference, especially when you have to cover significant distances in a single day. Issa was always punctual, polite, and helpful. He drove safely and comfortably and ensured that the transfers were simple and stress-free. He was always ready to help us when we needed it and maintained a positive and professional attitude throughout the day. His availability and kindness made us feel truly at ease. Two places, two completely different worlds One of the most beautiful things about this tour was precisely the combination of Petra and the Dead Sea. Petra represents history, archaeology, culture, and human ingenuity. The Dead Sea, on the other hand, represents nature, the landscape, and something absolutely unique from a geographical point of view. Putting these two places together on the same day allowed us to see two completely different sides of Jordan. It is precisely this variety that makes the trip so interesting. In a few hours, you go from canyons and rocky mountains to a completely different landscape, characterized by water, mountains, and an almost surreal atmosphere. A perfectly organized day Despite the number of things we saw, the day passed very pleasantly. We never felt like we were just being rushed from one attraction to another. We had time to observe, take photos, listen, ask questions, and above all, live the experience. Ali made Petra much more interesting thanks to his knowledge and explanations, while Issa ensured that all the travel was comfortable and calm. It was a perfect combination. A day we will carry with us At the end of the day we were tired, naturally, but with that beautiful feeling you get when you have spent a truly special day. We filled our phones with photographs, but we know that no photograph will ever truly capture what we felt in front of the Treasury of Petra or while observing the landscape of the Dead Sea. Above all, the emotions will remain with us. The first look at the Treasury. The enormous walls of the Siq. The colors of the rock. The stories told by Ali. The views during the trip. The tranquility of the Dead Sea. And the feeling of having discovered, even if only for a day, an extraordinary part of Jordan. Thank you Issa and Ali! A huge thank you to Issa for having been such a professional, kind, patient, and reliable driver. Thank you for making the travel comfortable and for helping to make the day so pleasant. And a special thank you to Ali, who with his knowledge, his passion, and his way of telling history made Petra even more fascinating. It is evident when a person does not simply do their job, but truly loves what they do. Ali allowed us to look at Petra not just as a place to visit, but as a story to experience. Absolutely recommended. We recommend this experience without hesitation to anyone visiting Jordan. Petra is simply a place to see at least once in a lifetime, and the Dead Sea offers a landscape so unique that it makes the day even more complete. But having people like Issa and Ali by your side transforms a simple excursion into something much more special. It was a day full of history, beauty, culture, incredible landscapes, and moments that will remain etched in our memory. Petra left us speechless. The Dead Sea gave us an unforgettable scene. Ali brought the story to life. Issa made every trip simple and pleasant. A truly extraordinary day, full of emotions and discoveries. A 10 out of 10 experience, which we absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to discover the best of Jordan in a single day. Heartfelt thanks to Issa and Ali for making this day so special. We will carry with us not only the photographs, but above all the memories and emotions of an experience that we will hardly forget.

An Epic Day in Jordan – Petra, the Dead Sea & Great Friends

What an absolutely epic day! Traveling with a group of friends, we set out for a one-day adventure to Petra and the Dead Sea, and it turned into one of those days that you know you’ll be talking about for years. Jordan is an incredible country, but having the right person escorting you can make the difference between a good trip and an unforgettable one — and Mosa was exactly that person. From the moment we started our journey, everything felt easy, relaxed, and well organized. Mosa was professional, friendly, punctual, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire day. He gave us the freedom to enjoy the trip with our friends while making sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. The drive itself was part of the adventure. We watched the Jordanian landscape change as we traveled, shared jokes, listened to music, talked, laughed, and enjoyed the feeling of being on the road with good friends. Mosa was always there when we needed him, but he also understood that we wanted to enjoy our time together. That balance made the whole day feel natural and effortless. And then came Petra. There are places you see in photographs and think, “That looks amazing.” Then there are places you actually stand in front of and realize that no photograph can truly prepare you for them. Petra was absolutely magical. Walking through the Siq and finally seeing the Treasury appear in front of us was one of those moments that stops you in your tracks. Standing there together with our friends, taking it all in, was an incredible feeling. The scale, the history, the mountains, and the atmosphere made Petra feel like something straight out of an epic adventure movie. We explored, walked, climbed, took countless photos, laughed, and enjoyed every minute. It was the perfect place to share with friends because there was always something new to discover around the next corner. After the adventure of Petra, we headed toward the Dead Sea, and the contrast couldn't have been better. From ancient ruins and mountain landscapes to relaxing in the unique waters of the Dead Sea — it was the perfect way to finish the day. Floating in the salty water, enjoying the scenery, and laughing with friends was an experience we will never forget. What made the entire day even better was Mosa. He was more than just our driver; he was the person who kept the whole adventure running smoothly. He was reliable, respectful, patient, and always ready to help. His driving was comfortable and safe, and after a long day of exploring Petra, it was great to know that we could simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. He also understood the spirit of our group. We were there to have fun, explore, joke around, and make memories, and Mosa gave us the space to do exactly that while making sure everything was taken care of. By the end of the day, we were tired, but it was the good kind of tired — the kind you feel after an incredible adventure with great friends. This wasn't just another sightseeing trip. It was a full-on Jordanian adventure: ancient history, spectacular landscapes, an unforgettable wonder of the world, the unique Dead Sea, and plenty of laughs along the way. Looking back, we couldn't have asked for a better combination. Petra gave us the adventure, the Dead Sea gave us the relaxation, our friends gave us the fun, and Mosa made the whole experience effortless. A massive thank you to Mosa for taking such great care of us and helping make this one of the most memorable days of our trip. If you're traveling to Jordan with friends and want a day filled with adventure, incredible scenery, history, laughter, and unforgettable memories, this is absolutely the experience to have. An unforgettable day. An epic adventure. Great friends. Amazing Jordan. And a special shout-out to Mosa — a true professional and a fantastic person to have by your side on the road. Petra was magical. The Dead Sea was unforgettable. The memories are priceless. We would do it all again tomorrow!

An Amazing Day in Petra & the Dead Sea

We had an absolutely fantastic one-day tour visiting Petra and the Dead Sea, and it was one of the highlights of our time in Jordan. The whole day was beautifully organized, comfortable, and full of unforgettable experiences. Our driver, Izat, was excellent from start to finish. He was punctual, professional, friendly, and very helpful, making the journey between the different locations smooth and relaxing. He was always attentive and made sure everything was going well throughout the day. In Petra, our guide Hazem was outstanding. Not a tour of Petra and the Dead Sea

This is not a tour of Petra and the Dead Sea. This is a tour of Petra and a picture near the Dead Sea. We were a group of four, which in total cost $699, and two drivers arrived at the hotel with two small sedans….not a van. Our group was split between the two cars which did not have chargers for our phones. The drivers took us to Petra where we were handed off to a tour guide where we learned that this package did not include access to Petra, which cost an additional 50 Jordanian Dinar (70 USD)per person….bringing the total tour cost to $979. I spent less money flying to Turkiye. Go to Hertz rent a car, drive to Petra, hire a tour guide there and save yourself hundreds of dollars, disappointment, and frustration.

Operator response

Dear client, seems you know all the details of the tour, and you added one star to all your tours because you have a problem as you read, it's clear that the tour and all our tours don't included entrance fees, and if you don't know the difference between the small sedan and limo service full size car, it's a big problem cuz we sent you 2 Toyota Camry 2025, and as you spent over 6 hours at Petra instead of 4 hours, there was no time to swim at Dead Sea, cuz swimming at Dead Sea not allowed after sunset so in the end we provided the services as we added in our tour, but it's your mistake and problem for missing the swim in the Dead Sea, and seems you don't like any tour you did
