It was built during the reign of Antonius Piu (138-164). The theater was presented to the local gods of the city and the emperor family. Aspendos is visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists every year and was used for concerts and activities until a few years ago.

Side, a peninsula in Antalya's Manavgat district, dates back to BC. It is estimated that it was founded before the 7th century. In fact, the first birthplace of the Manavgat Stream is Akdağ (Devil Mountain), located approximately 30 km south of today's Beyşehir Lake.
