The proposal of Tour de la Centolla with Penguin Sighting stands out for the combination of two first-rate products, where in addition to living an adventure in 4x4 vans through the lenga forests, the Beagle Canal and Puerto Almanza, we will embark for Isla Martillo to know well up close a colony of Magellanic penguins and Papuas, extraordinary moment in a natural environment par excellence. And of course, we include both breakfast at an ancient lagoon, Laguna Victoria, and a super-full lunch at one of the best restaurants in front of the Beagle Canal, with fresh seafood, seafood grilling, centolla and much more.

Departure from Ushuaia towards Complementary Route J
The proposal includes a breakfast on the shores of Laguna Victoria, amid an extraordinary landscape, worth contemplating. After that we will go to know the "flag tree", where we will also have wonderful views of the Beagle Channel and the Chilean islands
Then, we headed to the village of Puerto Almanza, a small fishing village located on the east coast of the Beagle Channel, 75 km from the city of Ushuaia. The name of the place comes from a sawmill that operated in the area between the 40s and 50s. Once in Puerto Almanza we will contemplate the beauties of the place, and we will have our reservation ready to be delighted with the most original local dishes, along the Beagle Channel. Once in the restaurant, you can taste the best fresh fish dishes from the Beagle Channel. As an appetizer, chef's seafood + Elaborate dishes with the day's catch or king crab stew. Desserts and drinks with and without alcohol included.
And after lunch, we will experience the unique experience of sailing in customized boats to Martillo Island, to contemplate and coexist in harmony for more than 30 minutes with Magellanic and Papuan penguins. After the adventure, we will start to travel the Centolla Route, and at the end, a beautiful journey surrounded by a lenga forest that enters the sea in a whimsical way.

Lovers of beautiful landscapes and wildlife
Excellent experience, it was totally worth coming to Ushuaia. The landscapes, the animals, the food, and the service from Luis and Araceli were very good. Highly recommended!

Disappointing inflexibility
We were to travel to Ushuaia by cruise; however, high winds prevented us from docking. We notified the tour operator and Viator as soon as we were informed by the cruise captain, 21 hours before the tour was to start. We were past the full refund cut off, but thought that we may still get at least a partial refund as it was a situation beyond our control and we were only 3 hours past the cut off. No! Viator let us know that, “The operator has advised that they are unable to approve the refund request, as the tour is scheduled to begin tomorrow and all arrangements have already been finalized.” Very inflexible, especially as the tour included a lunch that we were obviously not going to consume. A disappointing self-interested mercenary decision.

The people, food, and...
The people, food, and penguins were amazing. However, you're basically overpaying for a private taxi to and from the penguins, plus lunch. In fact the penguin tour is a completely separate company. There is no "4x4" part of the excursion. We were in an all wheel drive SUV along the same pot-holed road as a Toyota Corolla.

Our guide was great, the penguins were great and the meal of seafood centered on king crab was also great!

Great 4x4 guided private tour for martillo island (penguin)!
What a joyful guided private tour (4x4) it was. Our guide, Gabriel, was such a informative and kind. He showed and explained very well on each detail of the east side of Andes and the natural dynamics. Top of that, we have learned so much history of Ushuaia! The ride to fisherman village where is built for Argentina Navy base was smooth and fan! Delicious lunch provided along with wine! for penguin, the boat ride (1. 5hours) was very fan! The experienced pilot and a friendly assistant made us very comfortable. Great experience! What are you waiting for! It´s worthy!
