A wonderful overview of Penang’s unique food culture. Great variety, startlingly tasty and Sandy is a fabulous guide. Highly recommended.
We booked a private evening tour around Penang, and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone! The food choices were fabulous, and our local Penang Aunty was surprised we were taken to local (excellent) places to eat! Sandy was the best guide and made sure dishes were changed to our dietary needs. Be warned there is A LOT of food- go hungry!!
This was such a fun food journey! I enjoyed it alot! Sandy (our food tour guide) is so knowledgeable and great fun to be around! Will definitely keep these places in mind! It was amazing! 🥳❤️
Ken was a great food tour guide. Knowledgeable about the food but also gave us plenty of culture and history information as we walked around Georgetown. Food was delicious with such variety and you definitely won’t go hungry! Highly recommend.
Some fantastic food on the tour and be prepared to be full. They say it is 15 stops - what it fails to mention is that 3 of these are meals that I came away stuffed. Some of the places do not look much from the outside but the knowledge of our guide saw us visit places only locals would know. Ken explained what things were, how made and a whole lot more. All of the food was fantastic. Food is a great way of learning about the people living somewhere!
We really enjoyed this food tour. Sandy, our guide, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and clearly proud of the culinary and cultural food heritage of Malaysia. We tried loads of different dishes, traditions from India, China and Malay culture. We were absolutely stuffed full by the end of the tour but it was very interesting and enjoyable and you get a walking tour of many of the key different ethnic areas of Georgetown thrown in as an added bonus! Would definitely recommend!
Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. All of the foods were delicious!
We both thoroughly enjoyed our Plate Tasting Tour In Penang. Our guide Grace was very knowledgeable and had the perfect mix of professionalism and fun. The variety of food was amazing and Grace also had a good understanding of the history of the restaurants we visited. One dated back to 1907. By joining the group we were able to taste a wide range of different types of food and from different nationalities. In addition, I am allergic to dairy and gluten intolerant. During the tour Grace went to great lengths to accommodate my dietary requirements and came up with delicious alternatives. At no point did I feel my allergies impacted the positive experience of the tour. We can not recommend this tour highly enough. With kind regards Sharon & Bernard Ireland
