Itinerary
At this meeting point, we’ll take a step back in time to explore Sylvia Beach’s original bookstore and George Whitman’s vision of a 'socialist utopia.' You will discover the story of the 'Tumbleweeds' — adventurous travelers who are invited to stay in the shop in exchange for reading a book a day and helping out with daily tasks.
Crossing to Notre-Dame via Rue de la Cité. We’ll focus on the “resurrection” of Notre-Dame, briefly recalling the 2019 fire and the remarkable restoration efforts that led to its reopening.
pass by Point Zero – the geographical centre of Paris
Return to the Left Bank via Pont au Double. The bridge’s name comes from the 17th century, when a “double denier” toll was charged to help fund the nearby hospital, the Hôtel-Dieu. This will be covered while walking, without stopping.
One of the oldest churches in Paris, dating back to the 12th century. In the adjacent square, we’ll highlight the Robinia tree planted in 1601 — the oldest tree in the city — and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Notre-Dame.
While the museum won’t be visited during the tour, its façade is striking and a unique example of Gothic architecture. A fascinating blend of Roman and Medieval history, built on 1stcentury Roman baths. We’ll also mention The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries, often referred to as the “Mona Lisa” of the Middle Ages.
The Panthéon (via Rue SaintJacques). Originally built as a church dedicated to Sainte Geneviève, the Panthéon evolved into a secular monument honoring France’s “Great Men.” We’ll mention Foucault’s Pendulum, which demonstrated the Earth’s rotation.
Jardin du Luxembourg (Medici Fountain & Palace) Created in 1612 by Marie de’ Medici, who longed for her native Florence. The Medici Fountain is a romantic masterpiece, depicting the giant Polyphemus.
Treat your senses to a legendary stop at Georges Larnicol. We’ll pause here to discover the sweet treat.
Le Procope (Drop Off Place) We’ll conclude at Le Procope, passing through one of Paris’s most beautiful historic passages.

Amazing tour with Cecile, cooed very well with the rainy weather- did t feel like we missed anything. Thank you
Excellent tour with wonderful guide
Camila was amazing! She took us on an unintentionally private walking tour of Paris and she did a great job. We really enjoyed her spirit and knowledge of the area. Would absolutely do another tour with her. Paris is really chock full of beauty and history.
It was a super fun experience to see the parts of Paris we could have missed otherwise. Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens etc were all super fun to visit and we also learned about the history.
Great experience. Love that our guid Cecilia was so passionate and knowledgeable about Paris and its history.
Cecilia gave a wonderful tour. Every block or two she brought to life stories about places famous for centuries and places famous due to modern TV shows. Although there was a fair amount of walking, she made sure that the tour was doable for all of us on a hot, muggy evening.
We were shown around the Latin Quarter and enjoyed the histories of the parks and buildings along the way. We got rained on but it didn't matter. We ended at a local confectionary and had a sweet! Fun and informative. Met other travelers that we then bumped into the following day at the Louvre! How fun.
The tour was a great overview of one of Paris's more bohemian areas. I thoroughly enjoyed the the late evening stroll as I was able to see Paris around sunset. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend the tour.
The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the history and culture of the Latin district. As we wandered through the vibrant streets, he pointed out the iconic landmarks, each with its own unique story. He not only highlighted famous spots but also led us to hidden gems and local eateries that truly capture the essence of the area. Throughout the tour, he generously offered numerous recommendations for restaurants, shops, and attractions, ensuring that we would continue to enjoy the richness of the Latin district even after the tour concluded.
