The show was amazing. The directions to the meeting place were terrible. It said to go to 129 rue de grenelle and when we got there we were directed to go all the way around the building. Very confusing and an additional long walk which was not appreciated.
Take a vest. Indeed, the music can be very loud at times: watch out for sensitive ears.
A real disappointment. After seeing Luminiscence at Westminster, I expected a lot from this show at Les Invalides, as this exceptional venue offers such incredible visual potential. Unfortunately, I was left wanting more. I was expecting spectacular projections, capable of magnifying the architecture and the impressive beauty of the dome of Les Invalides. Despite some beautiful effects, the whole thing lacks, in my opinion, scale and, above all, that sense of wonder one expects from such a show. Another particularly disappointing point: the projected written explanations are almost illegible. You have to make a real effort to manage to read them, which inevitably detracts from the immersion and understanding. The music is certainly interesting, but I would have also liked a real narrative about the construction of Les Invalides, its architecture, and its history. That would have given the show much more depth. In the end, an absolutely majestic monument, but a production that, in my eyes, does not sufficiently exploit its potential. After the Westminster experience, the comparison is unfortunately difficult.
The Invalides site is absolutely sumptuous and offers a majestic setting that is worth a look. However, I was disappointed by the content of the visit. With such a heritage, one legitimately expects a true historical immersion, supported by chronological markers and a captivating narrative. Instead of that, the atmosphere relied solely on lighting effects and music. Furthermore, the part with the sparks was more reminiscent of a "Disney attraction" with no real interest in the history of the place. Too bad, the potential for an in-depth cultural immersion is immense.
Excellent show with amazing effects. Only drawback is that the whole experience is 50 minutes, and you want more. Expect to sit on stone steps which can be a little dusty.
This was an amazing evening however, there are two things that you should know when you visit. First, there is no seating except on hard marble stairs, so be prepared for that. Second, there are no restrooms so be prepared. Other than that, we had an amazing time and it was well worth our time to visit. It was also a little educational too because it gave a little history of the dome and Napoleon. The music is outstanding and the light show is captivating.
This is a breathtaking show, and the creators were so careful with every detail, for example, outlining all of the architecture of Les Invalides. Since we came here after dinner, I would have loved it if they had a bathroom and also if there were any opportunities to sit down.
Thank you for this wonderful review! We’re delighted that AURA INVALIDES amazed you. Unfortunately, the venue’s constraints do not allow us to install restrooms, which is why this information is specified on your voucher.
Superb experience! Top-notch organization! A special mention for Bénédicte, who is truly attentive to the visitors :)
Un grand merci pour votre retour ! Nous sommes heureux que cette expérience vous ait plu et ne manquerons pas de transmettre vos compliments à Bénédicte. À bientôt !
A beautiful experience that I highly recommend if you find yourself in Paris and want to experience a spectacular event in a unique location. The immersive show Aura Invalides takes place inside the Dôme des Invalides in Paris. The monument is located within the complex of the Hôtel National des Invalides. The show combines projections, lights, and orchestral music and is hosted in the building that houses the monumental tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. Advance reservation is required. Access to the show is exclusively from Place Vauban, 75007 Paris. The nearest subway stations are École Militaire (line 8) or Saint-François-Xavier (line 13).
Grazie mille per questo bellissimo commento! Siamo felici che AURA INVALIDES vi abbia conquistato e che abbiate apprezzato la magia di questo luogo unico. A presto a Parigi!
The entrance information was not clear so that was stressful. The shoe was good bust shorter than anticipated
