Be prepared for a long tiring day i was lucky the audience was held inside with extreme heat I had a good seat but lots of people left guide and went in earlier as we entered the grounds so they had better position Also no toilet facilities for 2 hrs once youve left meeting point on the whole i enjoyed it
Horrible experience!!! Unorganized!! Groups too large. A Lot of waiting. Poor seat due to tour group so slow. Missed second tour because we were in the back of the BASILICA BECAUSE TOUR WAS SO SLOW.with no refund for the 2nd tour we missed due to poor management. MANY PEOPLE LEFT THE TOUR!
We used this tour strictly for timing and location to get the best spot. We had the unusual occurrence that it was moved inside for heat and the tour guide set an earlier meeting time as he had learned from the week prior. This worked out perfectly. Because of prior experience we knew what to do when we got through security so we left the tour and secured an aisle spot. We all shook Pope Leo’s hand. It was incredible. My kids never would have had this experience without the expertise of the guide. Max’s guidance while we waited in line was very interesting. I liked that he was very detailed about the history while keeping the group on task and in order. I highly recommend this!
We missed our tour because could not find the meeting point. We asked soldiers.and police personnel for directions, but still could not locate. No Viator signage or any visual indication of a meeting point. Very disappointed.
Carmelo, the guide, entertained us with a splendid walk through the history of Rome and the Vatican, making the wait short until arriving at the Basilica where the papal Audience was held for the first time. A unique moment to remember. Very exciting!!!!!
Exceptional. Our guide got us so close to see the pope and was very knowledgeable about the Vatican and its workings
If you go in June, be prepared to have sunscreen, and protective clothing. If you're Catholic and love Pope Leo, like we do, the heat was well worth the experience! Also, our guide Julia, was wonderful! She was the best!
Waste of money ! Do it on your own and get in faster . We had to wait for the entire group and the tour guide seated us all the way in the back even though we got here at 6:40 am.
Excellent guide to help us navigate the massive crowds. She shared very interesting stories and facts and well with the price.
As a Catholic, this was a profound experience for me. I didn't realize when I booked it that we were going to witness the pope's final public audience of the Jubilee Year when the Holy Doors are open. Our guide was wonderful and obtained the very best seats possible for us to see Pope Leo up close. I could practically reach out and touch him when the "pope mobile" stopped right in front of our group. And I was able to get some incredible photos! There was a ceremony and a papal blessing that left me in tears. Everything about this tour was magical and I am so happy that I included it as part of my Christmas visit to Rome.
