Description
The biking tour takes you through old towns and villages, along the sea, among vineyards and olive plantations, through tunnels and across valleys. It is suitable for everyone. Parenzana is an old narrow-gauge railway between Trieste (Italy) and Poreč (Croatia), nowadays converted into a recreational pathway.
You will start the tour together with a guide at the cruise terminal in the port of Koper. You will cycle along the coast towards the fishing town of Izola. Then you will continue towards the valley of Strunjan, where you can admire the salt pains. Your guide will explain about the importance of salt for the Istrian region. After a short stop you will pass the Valeta tunnel and reach Portorož.
Your final destination will be the spectacular village of Piran. You’ll enjoy some free time to explore the town on your own. Afterwards you will bike back to Koper.

Koper to Piran Bike Trip
We did a bike tour with Koper Trips today with Dejan
that was absolutely beautiful! We started out in Koper and biked along the coast which was an easy ride on a regular pedal bike.
We continued along a path through the winding gentle hills and vineyards until we reached Prian, a picturesque town on the coast that is a hidden gem. Dejan arranged a rest stop at a little cafe with wine tasting and a light sampling of local fare that was just the perfect snack mid ride. The ride back was a little more challenging for the first few kilometers. Dejan was very attentive and cared very much that we enjoy his beautiful countryside. As a side note we are on a cruise ship and booked this privately and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the day.
