Palau Martorell and Steve McCurry ICONS Exhibition Ticket

Throughout his travels across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Steve McCurry has directed his lens towards the most vulnerable realities – civilians, communities affected by war, situations of injustice – and has alternated these testimonies with images of intense spirituality, such as temples, silences and moments of meditation. The result is a collective narrative, in which each photograph contributes to building a universal language based on the gaze. The exhibition reflects, through around 150 works, the complexity of his practice: the portraits, intense and penetrating, are never mere representations, but authentic encounters in which each face becomes a bearer of stories, identities and existential conditions. Within this visual narrative, the gazes of childhood also find their place, revealing themselves in the artist’s photographs as a shared language beyond any cultural boundary. Coexisting with humans, the exhibition also embraces the animal world.
