The tour begins with a transfer from Salerno to Paestum and a visit to the farm with a herd of buffaloes from Campania and the cheese factory to discover the secrets of Mozzarella, the world's best-loved Italian cheese. The visit to the cheese factory ends with a tasting of Mozzarella and dairy products. We will then move on to the archaeological area where a specialist guide will be waiting for us for the Tour of the Temples of Paestum, the city of Magna Graecia dating back to 500 BC. Surrounded by an almost completely preserved city wall and interspersed with 28 square and circular towers, which are in excellent condition, the Temples of Paestum are considered unique examples of Magna-Greek architecture. Paestum is an ancient city of Magna Graecia located in Campania, famous for its extraordinary, well-preserved Doric temples. Founded by the Greeks around the 7th century B.C. under the name Poseidonia, it later became a flourishing Roman colony. The archaeological area hosts three main temples: the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Athena and the Temple of Neptune, all majestic examples of Greek architecture. Next to the temples, there are remains of an amphitheatre, city walls and paved streets. The Paestum Archaeological Museum houses important finds, including the famous Tomb of the Diver, the only example of Greek figurative painting in southern Italy. Paestum has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.
We visit a farm with buffalo breeding in Campania and the cheese factory to discover the secrets of Mozzarella, the world's best-loved Italian cheese. The visit to the cheese factory ends with a tasting of Mozzarella and cheese products.
