I really enjoyed this historic walking tour of downtown Ottawa! The audio guides provide so much interesting information about the city’s history, important landmarks, monuments, and cultural heritage. I loved learning the stories behind the different places and discovering details that I might otherwise have overlooked. The self-guided format is convenient and flexible, allowing you to explore at your own pace while listening to the historical explanations. The instructions and audio content make the experience easy to follow and engaging from beginning to end. It’s a great way to learn more about Ottawa, appreciate its history, and discover the city’s most iconic landmarks. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in history, culture, and sightseeing. A worthwhile experience!

Wonderful Experience

Interesting but Tricky
We found this app was not user friendly initially. It took us over an hour to understand and begin using it. However, the information provided about each landmark was interesting. The challenge questions were mostly doable. We bought three tickets for our family of three but really only needed one as we used one phone.
Operator response
Thank you for your feedback! 😊 We're glad the landmark information was interesting and the challenges enjoyable in Ottawa! We're sorry the app took a while to get going — we're continuously working on making the start smoother. And you're right that one phone is enough for a family playing together — please reach out at worldcitytrail.com/chat about the extra tickets and we'll gladly find a fair solution. We hope to welcome you on another adventure soon! 🗺️

Fun and autonomous discovery
I used the app to discover the city of Ottawa. Since I was travelling solo, it allowed me to have a good time while learning about the history of the city and these monuments. I played the game at my own pace. The only downside is that at times, the indicated route from one monument to another made walking more than necessary.
Operator response
Merci beaucoup! 🗺️

Fun scavenger hunt in Ottawa
Overall the experience is positive. If you hit the skip button there's no going back so make sure you want to skip. Feels like the app should be a bit more forgiving especially for novices as the buttons are not entirely intuitive. Some quiz questions were not clear ...for example 'the famous five'. Good walking while exploring the city.
Operator response
Thank you Cathy! 😊 We're glad you enjoyed exploring Ottawa! Great feedback about the skip button and button clarity — we'll pass this directly to our development team to make the app more forgiving for first time players. We'll also review the 'famous five' clue for clarity. We hope to see you in another city soon! 🗺️

The experience
We did everything on the app but was great.. All my teens downloaded the app and tried to complete the tasks.. We really enjoyed the tour and the attractions..
Operator response
Thank you so much for your lovely review! 😊 We’re thrilled that your teens got involved, downloaded the app, and enjoyed completing the challenges together. It’s wonderful to hear that the whole group had fun exploring Ottawa and its attractions. We hope to welcome you all on another adventure in a different city soon! 🗺️

Not during construction!
This doesn't work when there is so much construction in Ottawa. The app is not nimble enough to recalculate. It was a total waste of money.
Operator response
Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry the construction in Ottawa affected your experience. We completely understand how frustrating it is when unexpected obstacles get in the way of an activity you've paid for. While city construction is outside our control, we take your point about the app's ability to adapt seriously and will pass this feedback to our development team. We should have been more proactive about flagging known construction areas in Ottawa — we'll look into updating the route where possible. We're always available at worldcitytrail.com/chat to help in real time during the activity. We hope you'll give us another chance in a different city! 🗺️

Very interesting but be prepared to walk A LOT
Please notice that the app suggests that you start from the Parliament Library and there's no way of getting there due to the ongoing constructions. That's why it's a 4 rate and not 5.
Operator response
Thank you for your feedback! 😊 We’re glad you found the tour interesting, but we’re sorry about the construction issue around the Parliament Library and the confusion this caused at the start. You’re right that temporary construction can affect access, and we appreciate you pointing this out. We’ll pass this feedback to our team so the starting information can be kept as clear and up to date as possible. We hope to welcome you on another adventure soon! 🗺️
