Orvieto is a lovely little hilltop town dominated by its Cathedral, a Duomo built in the 14th century that will impress you for the imposing beauty of its elaborate facade. With the help of your Driver-guide, you will get the picturesque funicular to reach the main road, Corso Cavour, and start your stroll through the typical shops and suggestive alleys that branch off from the main road. Other than the Cathedral, other highlights are: the 13th century papal palace located next to the Duomo and the St. Patrick's Well, a masterpiece of engineering from the Renaissance. Orvieto and Assisi

Orvieto was absolutely charming and beautiful! Our driver Mauricio was very skilled and friendly. We had a wonderful day! Assisi was also beautiful. We got a bit lost and our driver rescued us after a call to the help line!

An Outstanding Day Trip to Assisi and Orvieto from Rome with Garis

This private tour to Assisi and Orvieto was absolutely excellent and one of the highlights of our stay in Italy. We started the day in the beautiful town of Assisi, where we visited the magnificent Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, an inspiring place filled with history, art, and spirituality. We also visited the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels, which houses the small church of Saint Francis inside, as well as the Church of Saint Peter. Exploring Assisi was a wonderful experience, with its charming streets, stunning architecture, and peaceful atmosphere. After Assisi, we continued to Orvieto, another beautiful hilltop town rich in history and culture. We visited the impressive Duomo of Orvieto, explored the fascinating Duomo Underground, and enjoyed visiting a couple of the town's museums. Orvieto's medieval character, breathtaking views, and remarkable heritage made it a truly memorable destination. A special mention goes to our driver, Garis, who was outstanding throughout the entire tour. He was friendly, professional, engaging, and knowledgeable. His car was spotless and very comfortable, and he drove safely and smoothly between Rome, Assisi, and Orvieto, making the journey relaxing and enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to discover two of Italy's most beautiful historic towns in a single day. If possible, ask for Garis as your driver—you will be in excellent hands!
