The Open Water certification course was great. The course was well explained in advance and followed again as it progressed here. The staff was very helpful and courteous. My instructor Arturo was patient and knowledgeable. And the certification dives were beautiful.
My daughter and I thought we would just try scuba diving but Lisa made it so approachable, was so encouraging and kind that we decided to go from Discover Scuba to Open Water Training. Lisa was really patient and thorough and we had the best time learning how to scuba and exploring the amazing Roatán reefs. Captain Tyron was amazing - kept us smiling and kept our loads light! Marcos was another kind instructor on board who we was hysterical and fun to wave to in passing under water. Definitely dive with these guys! Couldn’t have had a better experience!
I recently got my Open Water certification with West bay divers. The whole process was super smooth and shout to my instructor Marcos. He gave clear instructions and was just very chill. I completed my elearning beforehand so I was able to do all my dives during my stay, plus I did two extra dives with my wife on our last day. Overall communication was great from the beginning and during my dives. Def recommended West Bay Divers.
Our experience at West Bay Divers was nothing but the best. Me and my girlfriend were looking to get certified for open waters this past weekend in Roatan and through West Bay Divers we made that happen. From the professionalism of our Instructor Takeshi to every detail along the way. Our certification is now complete and we hope to go on more dives together! Special thanks to Takeshi for his knowledgeable approach towards everything that was done, also just being a great guide throughout the whole experience. A must in Roatan!
We had a great experience with instructor Karim. He's a super friendly, encouraging and knowledgable instructor. Four great dives and he made us feel very comfortable, including an 11-year old. We saw a huge stingray, a couple turtles, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Highly recommend!
That makes the lack of follow-up much worse—you were a substantial customer, not someone who did a single dive. I completed my first seven dives with West Bay Divers, including my PADI Open Water certification as well as the Peak Performance Buoyancy and Enriched Air Nitrox specialties. Unfortunately, my experience with my instructor, Joel, ended very badly. After completing all that training, I asked Joel to validate my dives in the PADI app. He was dismissive and showed no interest in helping once the courses were finished. I eventually entered the dives myself, but several weeks later, they are still pending his approval. Since then, I have dived in Costa Rica, where the dive center validated both of my dives in the PADI app that very same day. That showed me how simple and routine this follow-up should be when a dive professional actually takes care of their customers. After completing seven dives and three certifications with West Bay Divers, I expected basic professionalism and follow-through. Instead, I was left feeling that once the courses were over, Joel simply stopped caring. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend him as an instructor.
We just completed water diving certification with cream, who was absolutely amazing. I did the course with my two boys who are 15 and 13. He was extremely thorough in his explanation of how to dive in his teaching process made this a very simple process that my kids loved. He also did an amazing job of pointing out animals while we were underwater and showed us a variety of things after we had mastered theskills for that particular dive that we were supposed to demonstrate. I also thought the dive company had great gear that fit everyone and really tookcare of their stuff. If you’re coming here to dive as a long time, diver or get certified as a individual or family, I cannot recommend this place enough
The best experience for a first time, taking the course with the staff was the best, since they had a lot of patience with me and made me feel safe, the equipment was totally new and the boat too. I will definitely return with them soon to finish the course. 100% recommended
I had an incredible experience with West Bay divers in roatan! I got my certification super easy. Everyone there is so attentive and kind while you are learning. I had Lisa as my instructor and she was absolutely amazing! I wish I could dive with her all the time she is so smart and kind and makes you feel so comfortable. We also had captain Tyron who was the best captain ever! If you are looking to go diving this is the place to go!
