An excellent tasting in French with Kiara, who took the time to passionately explain the entire olive oil production process to us, from harvest to bottling. The visit ended with a tasting of several organic olive oils, all of exceptional quality. Everything was perfect: the welcome, the explanations, the passion conveyed, and the quality of the products. If you are looking for a place in Crete to discover and buy authentic Cretan olive oil, this is without a doubt the place to visit. A big thank you to Kiara for the warm welcome. We will come back with great pleasure!
Fantastic visit to Koronekes with Kiara who explained her craft with passion! And top-notch tasting!
Merci! Je suis ravie de savoir que la visite avec moi vous a plu! Au plaisir de vous revoir!
We spent an excellent couple of hours in the expert hands of Elena who, although originally from Tuscany, has a wide range of knowledge of this Greek olive grove and its surroundings which she shared with passion and tremendous enthusiasm. The location was a bit difficult to find but when we did get there, we found ourselves in a pretty courtyard where Elena explained about the history of the olive mill whilst we absorbed the aroma of the bread being freshly baked to accompany the olive oil tasting.experience. Following that, we went into the room where it all happens and were talked through the various stages of production, after which we had an opportunity to buy bottles or cans of the various oils. Unfortunately, airline baggage limitations restricted the amount we were able to take but, as they ship worldwide, replenishing supplies should not be a problem.
Super informative almost 2-hour tour with Elena. Everything was explained perfectly from the olive tree, harvesting, and the individual steps of production. It is a small family production that exclusively produces organic oils. You can also buy different sizes of oils directly there. Highly recommendable…
This was a great tour. We got to learn about the entire process from harvesting the olives to bottling and everything in between. We also learned how large manufacturers' process differs from smaller productions, and what makes olive oil "extra virgin". The tasting was fantastic, including instructions on three key elements to consider. We were taught what to look for in olive oil labeling moving forward to ensure we are getting the best quality and healthiest oils. Our hostess Kiara was so friendly and informative. Highly recommend!
The very friendly guide told us in a very friendly and nice way a lot of interesting things about olive oil production, tasting and olives. There was also a delicious tasting, which together was worth more than his money.
We were received like kings while we were ahead. The visit and the explanations, although in English while we are French, were very well understood thanks to the Italian gesture of our interlocutor. Tasting oils with very different flavors won us over to the point of bringing some home and allows us to have some Crete in France.
Thank you for the very warm Welcoming and for all these explanations! Very interesting to discover other traditional ways of doing things, the family project and to be able to share and exchange. Fingers crossed for the rest!
Very good value for money. Our guide Eleanor was a great source of information. We were told about the oil production first outside under some shade, then looking at an olive tree then finally in their production room. Dry small scale but perfectly formed. Lastly we tasted some oils. It was really interesting. Probably Not great for under 10s but great for all other ages. We really enjoyed it (and got all of our gifts in the shop afterwards!).
Very informative explanations, all in a very nice joie de vivre! We had the opportunity to test different oils and others with good explanations how to discover them in the mouth. I recommend!
