Offical Ticket:2026 Chiangmai Authentic NUT Sky Lanterns Festival

Chaotic, disorganized, and beautiful. I was told that this event is something that should be on your bucket list. When I signed up for this event I was given a meeting place and time, but no other details were provided. When I got to the meet up spot all the attendees were lined up and put on buses. No one one the bus knew where we were going. An hour later and in the middle of the mountains we were let off near a pathway. No information guides no signs. Once we walked down the path we were lead to a registration tent were I got a pass with seat number and color. At the main fairgrounds there were several long queues but no one seemed to know what each queue was for. I had to go to thr front of each one to figure it out for myself. The same could be said for the seating for dinner. There were several tables of various fancis but nothing was labeled no one knew were they should sit based off their ticket type. The food was buffet style but no one was around to manage the queue so people were just hopping in wherever they wanted. That ends my dissatisfaction part with the event. As for the good let's start with the location. It was beautiful and serene. The host spoke both in Thai and English and introduced various dancers while explaining about the cultural significance of each dance. Gorgeous moments and choreography. All the food was delicious and a great representation of various Asian dishes. The lighting of the lanterns was unfortunately mired by rain and since people in the front had umbrellas it was difficult to see the stage and the impressive martial artists doing their routine. Luckily the rain ended just in time the lighting ceremony. Pictures cannot do this justice. Lanterns filled the nights sky and began to look like shooting stars. Truly breathtaking and a site to behold. Definitely a bucket list worthy experience. I gave this experience 3 stars, bit with a tiny amount of logistics work this could have easily been a five star review. I hope to give you guys another shot in a few years.

There is lack of control regarding the tables because we have premium tickets and we didn’t have any table at all and we made a mistake to travel through the train they offer and we couldn’t find any table available due to standard ticket holders arrive a little bit earlier by bus and they occupied them. On the other hand the price is quite high comparing with the CAD event. I expected something beautiful magical as the pictures they show you but those pictures are from the CAD event not from this one. I definitely recommend to purchase the CAV event directly from their website instead of buying from Chinese companies who scam you with fake pictures for marketing. the event is real but not as you will expect because oT the high price.
