We booked this trip because it was advertised as an ethical dolphin and whale watching experience, but unfortunately it wasn’t really enjoyable and didn’t feel safe. On the speedboat, there was no mention of safety, no visible life jackets, and no explanation of what to expect. The skipper smoked as he drove and barely communicated with us. My son’s football top was damaged when some ash from his cigarette burned a hole in it, which just added to the lack of care and professionalism shown during the trip. With fuel cans around, smoking on a small boat doesn’t seem a good idea. We were fortunate enough to see dolphins and a whale, but instead of enjoying the encounter, we felt uncomfortable with how it was conducted. There were numerous boats surrounding the animals, our own boat was playing loud music, and the overall experience felt far from the respectful, low-impact wildlife encounter we had been promised. If you’re looking for a genuinely ethical and safety-conscious wildlife experience, I would not recommend this tour based on our experience.
