Tour took a full day. It gave a good overview of the Island's senic beauty as well as the history of its development.
Our guide, Kimoke’o was excellent, very knowledgeable about Hawai’i history and culture. He also has a great sense of humor. We did three days of an Oah’u Explorer through Norwegian. Day one was Dole Plantation which was basically just a gift shop and snack bar, we did get Dole whip with pineapple which was delicious. We then visited the Polynesian Cultural Center which was very interesting and informative. Day two was Pearl Harbor and Kimo gave us good advice about getting on standby for the USS Arizona Memorial which we did and were able to get to go there. The experience was chilling as the Arizona is a war grave and I was very proud that everyone on our boat was respectful while at the memorial. We also toured the USS Missouri BB-63, the WWII Iowa class battleship where the Japanese signed the unconditional surrender which ended WWII on September 2nd, 1945 in Tokyo Bay. It was sobering to stand on the deck where Adm. Chester Nimitz signed the document. We the went to the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum on Ford Island. An excellent aviation museum with an impressive collection. We then returned to the Arizona Visitors Center to tour the USS Bowfin, a Balao class submarine which was commissioned on Dec 7, 1942. We also toured the Pacific Submarine Museum which was excellent as well. Day three was Boyodo-in Buddhist Temple which was beautiful. We the toured Kualoa Ranch which is a private wildlife preserve and working ranch. They also film movies and television shows there and have preserved some of the sets. Overall an excellent value and ask for Kimoke’o if you can.
Kimoke’o was a fantastic driver/tour guide! Very knowledgeable, funny, personable. Thank you for making our three days on Honolulu so enjoyable!
This trip was enjoyable and seamless. Our driver and tour guide, Ken, was knowledgeable and funny. And he could handle that bus in tight situations. We learned a little history and heard some stories about surfing and life in Hawaii. That made the driving time pleasant. Of the stops, the pinnacle was Waimea Valley. Seeing the waterfall was great but the botanical gardens were mind blowing and the curated cultural artifacts were a delight.
We loved our experience with KimoKe’o! He is a very informative guide and kept us entertained with his knowledge and his funny stories! We enjoyed all of our destination spots and we were very comfortable on the bus. Our guide made our day so enjoyable!! Thanks Kimo Ke’o!
Kimoke'o was our guide. He was entertaining and explained a lot of history to us. He kept us laughing and also helped us understand Polynesian culture of Oahu. We saw a lot of great sites, and had a lot of fun.
The bus driver was incredibly entertaining and funny. He shared lots of fun facts about life in Hawaii, which made the tour even more interesting and enjoyable. He was also very friendly, cheerful, and full of energy. The only downside was that I felt there wasn’t enough time to explore the different stops. I would have loved to spend a little more time at each location.
Nice tour of the island, stopping at some interesting places. The guide/driver had great stories, commentary and dad jokes. The trip wouldn’t have been the same without him.
Most talking about the history was so good She has taken the time to learn the history of the island. I just wish as we were going into Waimea valley she had stopped and told a story of it. But she was really into the Edie story so I actually had to ask about where we were
Mo made an it an awesome experience. She was full of knowledge that she shared with us...never a dull moment. Best driver ever.!!!
