Wajima Morning Market
Admission included60 min
Energetic voices fill the avenue since early mornings, and you will find stalls lining the streets, selling fresh fish brought in from the port, fresh vegetables from the nearby farmland, traditional arts & crafts, and dry provisions, etc. With more than one thousand years of history, who would want to miss out on the famous Wajima Morning Market?
Shiroyone Semmaida
60 min
People visiting Senmaida are greeted by an amusing site with many layers of rice paddies on the steep slopes with an area of 1.2 hectares at the foot of Koushuzan Mountain. The number of these paddies goes up to 2000. These green rice paddies facing the sea create are spread almost geometrically and thus create a beautiful and bright landscape on the background of the blue sea. From Spring to Summer, the rays of evening sun setting over the sea reflect beautifully on the green paddies and make it an ideal spot for landscape photography.
Okunoto Salt Farm Village
Admission included60 min
The Okunoto Salt Farm Village in Suzu is the only facility in Japan to use the traditional "Agehama" Technique for salt production. As the name explains, a salt field is a field for making salt, and the field is created by spreading clay on top of a bedrock, then spread sand all over it after the clay has harden. People used the same method to produce natural salt with rich minerals about 500 years ago
Myojo-ji Temple
60 min
Myojoji Temple is the head temple of Nichiren Sect in Hokuriku Region. Visitors can also visit Joroku-do, a hall containing a wooden statue of Shakamuni Buddha (5 meters tall, 1686); this statue was restored lately to remove all alterations that were made last centuries, and recovered now its original appearance
Chirihama Nagisa Driveway
60 min
This famous beach Driveway runs from Imahama Beach to Hakui-gun's Chirihama beach. This beach driveway is 8 km long and has a road-width of 50 m. It's made of tightly compacted fine sand making it firm enough for a pleasant drive along the beach. The particle diameter of the ordinary beach sand granule is about 0.5 mm to 1 mm, while that of the sand on Chirihama Beach is a quarter of the ordinary size and thus very fine.

Visit to Noto Peninsula
We enjoyed a full day trip from Kanazawa to the Noto Peninsula with driver Takeshi-san. He was an excellent guide and took us to see some very interesting sights, such as terraced rice fields, a local market and a salt farm. We enjoyed a beautiful seafood lunch, some good music and a drive along the beach. But most of all we got an understanding of the effects of the devastating earthquake that hit the Noto area two years ago and how huge and ongoing the reconstruction works are. Thank you Takeshi-san!
Operator response
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. We’re really glad to hear you had such a meaningful and enjoyable day exploring the Noto Peninsula with Takeshi-san. It’s wonderful that you were able to experience the beautiful landscapes, local culture, and seafood, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the region’s recovery and reconstruction efforts after the earthquake.
Thanks from all of us at Kanazawa Tours, we truly appreciate your kind words!

Great experiences and comfortable ride
We had a wonderful time with our guide and driver, Nori. The rice terraces, salt farm, and driving on the beach were all memorable experiences. This is a wonderful "deep cut" that shows a part of Japan that many tourists never get to see - I highly recommend it.
Operator response

Good tour, but raining a lot
Noto peninsula is a beautiful area! our guide/driver Mai was great as well. Unfortunately, it was raining a lot during our tour and this impacted some of the activities we could do- mostly the salt farm since they require sunny days for the salt making process. Customer service was top notch when I mentioned we were unable to experience the full tour. Despite this and even in the rain, the views from the rice paddies are something we will remember forever. What a beautiful place!
Operator response
Dear Ilana, Thank you for the positive feedback and support, we are sorry the weather didn't hold up for you on the day. It was a pleasure working with you and we hope the rain holds off for the rest of your trip. Thank you for chosing Kanazawa Tours

Unforgettable Day with Nozomi on the Noto Peninsula
Nozomi was our guide for an amazing tour of Noto Peninsula. We cannot say enough good things about her; she made the day! Noto Peninsula has beautiful coastal scenery, but it was our time with Nozomi that we remember the most. She was absolutely delightful -- outgoing personality; incredibly knowledgeable about any and all aspects of Japanese life, history and culture; gracious; impeccable English; loads of fun to spend time with. She went above and beyond to make sure that not only were we enjoying our time on Noto Peninsula, but also that we would get the most out of our solo days in Kanazawa, recommending restaurants, shops, etc. Nozomi is a gem; hands down one of the best guides we have ever had on an international trip.

Fun exploring Noto area
Decided to see more of the countryside and Kanazawa Tours provided this excellent option of visiting the Noto Peninsula- Taka arrived to pick me up and off we went for a day of exploring- so much fun- saw markets in Wajima, salt making processes, driving on beaches- that was fun especially in a large car, rice paddies tiers and Kiriko museum (large lanterns of the Wajima area) and brilliant scenery!
Taka was an excellent drive and most knowledgeable and I had such a great time away from. cities and seeing rural Japan.

A highlight of our trip to Japan!
First I want to say, that the name of the company is Kanazawa Tours. I offer this because I was confused by TA's name when initially doing research on choosing a tour in Kanazawa for myself, my husband and son (age 24). Second, and more importantly, I want to say that this tour ranked among my favorite that I've taken around the world. The customer service in arranging the tour was excellent and responsive. Mike, who I think is the owner, helped tailor this tour for what we wanted, which was food-centric. We went to an outdoor market where we purchased local fish and then took it to a little place that cooked it for you (like for a $1.00) and ate it there. Amazing and unique experience. Then went to rice fields (lucky to be there during harvest). I cannot put into words the beauty of the fields, right alongside the crashing ocean...magnificent! Then onto a salt manufacturer (if you can call it that). The process is to take ocean water and spray it out to dry and then boil it down. The owner of the place was just wonderful. Also went to a winery. Also made stops along Noto's rugged coast and through quaint villages. Our driver/guide was outstanding...Thank you Taka! To me, understanding different cultures by interacting with locals is what makes travel so special. This tour was excellent and I recommend it 100%.
