Wonderful calligraphy class
Our experience was so lovely! We were greeted at our meeting spot with happy smiles, jasmine tea and we were lucky enough to have a very intimate and private class. Richard taught us how to write four different phrases in a Chinese calligraphy style and even taught us how to write our own names! At the end we wrote a phrase on a beautiful card that we were able to take home aswell our own calligraphy pen that we were given as a gift!

Excellent Experience!
Richard is SUCH a great resource! We had to keep our class short but in that time we saw improvement of our skill and learned a lot about Chinese Calligraphy culture/philosophy. It was a peaceful environment and there were only a couple of us so we got a lot of hands on assistance and help. He’s a true master that has been doing this for 38 years. Definitely give it a try if you’re in Beijing. We had such a good time!

You need this class.
You need this class and you don’t even know it. It felt like an authentic experience which is what I was looking for. Richard was so calm and patient with me and by the end of the session, I felt so calm. Do it for the fun. Do it for the tranquility.

What a great experience in Beijing! Richard was an excellent teacher and I get to take home a finished piece of art. He also gifted me a calligraphy brush! Highly recommend!

10/10 experience!
This was my first time doing calligraphy and it was a great experience! The teacher Richard was really informed and really helpful. I learned a lot in just a 45 minute session. I would definitely book another session with him the next time I am in Beijing. 10/10 class. I even got to leave with my own canvas and my own brush as a gift!

If you want to take a master - a calligraphy class in Beijing , there is a proven version for 2026. Clear location . A punctual and polite teacher. Quite a lesson. The brushes and photos were a gift.
