Itinerary
Your tour starts in Vineland ON in the very heart of Niagara's Benchland. Nestled along the top of the Niagara Escarpment, this massive facility sprawls out over 200 acres of pristine vines. Like most family owned and operated wineries, Vieni Estates started with modest beginnings, but now offers onsite wedding services, catered outdoor events & much more. Upon arrival, each guest on tour will enjoy multiple Complimentary Wine Tastings. This is your chance to ask any questions you may have regarding the wine making process. The staff at Vieni are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine industry. Being one of the area's only Italian inspired wineries, you will find some of the regions most full body and robust red wines, along with dry to semi dry whites. After sampling ask about their popular homemade Grappa. If you are super nice, just ask their staff for a quick little FREE sample. Otherwise, use your time to shop or chill with a glass of wine at their outdoor patio.
Located on the edge of Niagara's Benchland, Puddicombe Farms has served as one of the area's oldest and most established fruit farms. Established in 1797 this fully operational fruit farm has endless fruit trees like sweet cherries, apples, pears and of course a whole lotta grapes. The rustic charm of Puddiombe Farms will help make you feel relaxed as you make your way into one of their large tasting facilities. Upon arrival, each guest on tour will enjoy multiple FREE wine & hard cider samples, followed by plenty of time to shop inside their wine boutique store and onsite bakery and old time general store. This location will also be our designated lunch stop. Casual and affordable lunch items like stone oven baked pizzas, hot dogs, sandwiches, charcuterie boards and even chili. After lunch, take the remaining time to stroll the grounds. If you hear the sound of a train whistle you are not going mad. They have a fully operational hobby train that you can hop-on at a modest price.
Our tour makes a stop at Wayne Gretzky & Trius wineries for shopping & exploring. NO wine tastings are included in your visit here, but we do give you plenty of time to shop, look around and take in the atmosphere. Considered one of Niagara's Most Popular Wineries, Wayne Gretzkys offers a little bit of everything. Yes, they make delicious wines, but did you know that they also have an onsite Distillery. Outside get in to the True North Spirit by sitting rink side with a delicious cocktail, glass of wine or even a beer. It only makes sense that their outdoor pond is turned in to a skating rink every winter. Ask about skate rentals, but be mindful of time. If you like, make your way next door to Trius Winery. This large winery offers one of the area's biggest wine boutique stores. Purchase a glass of wine feel free to wonder here as well. Duration of stay at this location may fluctuate based on group size and weather.
Upon arrival to Wayne Gretzky Winery you will have the option to also visit Trius Winery. Both wineries are connected by a scenic pathway towards the back of the facility. Samples are NOT included at this location, but feel free to purchase a glass of wine inside the massive wine boutique store. Stroll the grounds or find a nice comfy spot under a tree and amongst the vines. Trius is one of oldest and most well established wineries in the Niagara Wine Belt of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Have your phone ready as there a multitude of scenic photo opps.
Riverview Cellars Winery sits along the historical Niagara Parkway, overlooking 110 acres of some of Niagara's best kept grapes. There are only a few families with a long lineage of grape growing in the Niagara Region and the Pilliterri family is one of them. Using both time honored traditions, new modern day techniques and a whole lotta love you will be sure to find the best varietal for your taste buds. Upon arrival each guest will enjoy a flight of three wine samples inside one of their large Private Tasting Rooms. Take in the surrounding ambiance as your group interacts with one of Riverview's personal & knowledgeable staff members. Be sure to ask plenty of questions. Sampling can take around 20-25 minutes. You will be left with plenty time to shop their onsite boutique or relax with a glass of wine outside amongst the vines. Light snack and food options available to purchase, along with amazing bottle deals.

The tour was on a school bus with no guide other than the bus driver. The itinerary changed from what we booked. We did go the Gretzky estates but only for 30 minutes! Just seemed to spend more time on the literal school bus than the winery’s. If you’re looking for a little pampering, and to lean about the areas wines, this is not it.
Long distances between wineries, depends a bit on traffic which is not in anyone’s control. Very casual day overall. Food selection limited. Fantastic tour guide though.
I have done this wine tour three times now, the first two tours were awesome. However, my most recent tour left a lot to be desired. The bus was extremely small, so small that groups of 2 could not be seated together. This also made it hard to have a conversation while on the bus. The whole tour also felt very rushed, leaving barely any time to even take a photo. It seemed as though the bus driver prioritized a stop at Picards peanuts over time at the wineries, which were what we came for. Don’t plan on doing it again.
Good value, great tour guide. Confusing start and duration times. One winery definitely below expectations.
Honestly, this was such a fun day out! I would recommend going throughout the week. We went on a tuesday and had about 10 people in the group, they said weekends are 40-50 people. My friends and I enjoyed every winery we went to and had an absolute blast. So worth the money in all ways. All the places were beautiful and had knowledgeable and friendly people.
we had a great time and joey our guide was very informative and knowledgeable we would definitely go back, nick
Very small serving, quick tasting, poor not visiting the caves, poor explanations. 2/4 of the winery were very disapointing, better to juste go on your own and chose winery by yourself.
Loved the included wineries. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable. The lunch stop was pretty long. He even brought us back to our hotel at the end. Super fun day!
Althouh I cannot drink very much, I really enjoyed the tour, because people who joined the tour were very very friendly. I really enjoyed talking with them while drinking nice wine.
Very nice tour guide and easy to find the bus, but the itinerary was lacking. Traveling from niagara to hamilton for lunch and getting stuck in inevitable traffic back to niagara for the rest of the tour unfortunately kills the experience. As a local, I would strongly recommend paying extra on a different tour that that stays in Niagara Region to maximize time at wineries, doing what the tour is supposed to offer.
