Niagara Falls with Maple & Wine from Toronto. Local Experience

I booked this tour over a month prior to visiting Toronto and then the night before I receive a text that there was an issue with Viator and that they are not able to accommodate my reservation and can book me with another tour company. I did however the new company did not include all the stops and time frame they did and the guide service was very lacking. Beware if you book this tour they may cancel last minute leaving you to scramble for new plans.

A packed full 12 hour day. Excellent venues to visit and would highly recommend this trip. There were only 6 people on our trip so bizarrely they stuck us all in a car that was quite cramped to be honest. They no doubt saved money not using a transit van equivalent. The trip is really about taking you from A to B as opposed to anything being "guided" but this was fine. The driver was a good person and did a great job ferrying us all around. He was Filipino (apologies can't remember his name) and a credit to the company. We did the boat included for Niagara Falls and this was simply brilliant as you experience the power and sound of the falls. Maple farm was good but the wine location was somewhat small and they only let you try the basic wines. Nonetheless, overall I would recommend this trip to others as we certainly enjoyed it.

This tour definitely provided a fun day out. There was a lot of time to explore Niagara (the falls area) and at Niagara on the Lake. The maple syrup factory and vineyard visits were also great. Overall - excellent day trip and I'd definitely recommend. For me - the vineyard was definitely a highlight as well as the Hornblower Cruise. The only improvements/recommendations/suggestions I have are as follows: - perhaps do the brief introductions outside of the moving vehicle as the sound doesn't travel well inside while moving on the major roads - on the e-ticket or on the day of, email everyone the timeline of the day so they'd know where and when to return for pick up (just as a reinforcement) - if the van could have stayed on site at Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake for those who may not have wanted to walk around as much - especially as it was raining - that would have been a plus - I expected more time at the maple syrup factory - to see the equipment and learn more about the process etc (unless that's proprietary information). - the drop off point was unexpected. I was under the impression that we'd be returning to where we were picked up (at Ripley's). The drop off point had me a bit uneasy as instead of the Dufferin subway entrance, the van turned into an alley way opposite this entrance. This had me a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps a mall or some sort of city centre might be better. Despite the weather, fantastic day out.

The most memorable part of the trip was the “add -on” that we purchased to take the boat ride at Niagara Falls. Other than that the tour was staged to separate the tourists from their money. Niagara on the Lake, the maple syrup tour , and the vineyard tour were not tours at all. We were provided samples of their products and asked if we wanted to buy. That was it. No demonstrations, no tours of the grounds, and very little knowledge displayed when questions were asked. Very disappointing.

I enjoyed the 1 day tour and festival of light. It was worth the money we paid for this fantastic day. Too bad we didn't stay over night, next year we will. Thank you!!!!

I had the best time on this tour! The itinerary was perfect and it was a well paced busy day with lots of free time to explore! We had some unique stops that If on my own would not have known to visit! Our tour guide Ramiro was very welcoming, organized, and spoke a lot about the area! I highly recommend booking a tour with this company … it’s a day well spent! I will book another tour with them again!

The trip was postponed by one day to have sunny weather and we started an hour earlier to enjoy the Niagara Falls not overcrowded. Simply beautiful! Both tastings were great.. thank for this amazing trip Mike!

Great combination of activities! We enjoyed every bit of it. Advice; wait for lunch in Niagara on the lake.

We particularly wanted a smaller tour and didn’t want to be taken to the guide’s mates places. We paid extra to be picked up from our hotel and then to the meeting place where we met with our guide for the day- Mike. He was a very knowledgeable, affable chap who knew his stuff and nothing was too much trouble. What we really appreciated was his flexibility and willingness to cut shorter time spent at falls, as the Hornblower cruises weren’t yet running, and to spend more time at the other stops. He had good recommendations everywhere and was great company on what was a long day for him. Would definitely recommend this company and will use them again. My favourite part about Travelling Chicken is the personal touch. Lenka takes interest in everyone, making sure the experience is enjoyable for all. The Niagara trip was well run and I did not feel rushed despite the many fun stops & activities Travelling Chicken put into that tour.
