Fab day for Gilded Age fans!
Great tour especially if you are a Gilded Age fan. The opulence is out of this world, and also slightly obscene! It was a great, full on day.
Willy was a very personable guide and happy to help.
The vehicle was actually pretty uncomfortable. I don’t think there was any suspension in the back! It would be helpful if the guide had a microphone to impart the information as we could not hear anything at all.

Beautiful homes and historical information
Enjoyed the tour to the Marble House and the Breakers very much. Had plenty of time to enjoy the homes. The driver was very knowledgeable about the history along the trip. The only problem was that he had a quiet voice and really could have used a microphone.

Newport Mansions & Coastal Charm
This trip is everything you need if you’re looking for historical experience outside Boston. Paco is an excellent driver and tour guide. The pickup options are convenient. Both mansions are amazing, full of stunning details. I really enjoyed the whole experience.

Great Newport House Excursion
Our guide, Paco, was friendly & courteous, on time for pick up, and gave us plenty of time between the Marble House, Fort Adams, finding a great restaurant for lunch in Newport, the Breakers, & Cliff Walk, for us to see everything & thoroughly enjoy ourselves! He also accommodated us by picking us up at our hotel even though it was not listed as a pickup point! It was great day!

Our day trip to Newport
Our driver/guide for the day was Willy -a lovely guy but a bit difficult to understand/hear while we were in the minibus. Maybe a microphone would help. He gave us a snack (pack of Doritos) and bottled water -sadly the water was warm as they don't have a cold box on board. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Seeing inside 'The Breakers' and 'The Marbles' houses and the grounds was wonderful. The tour itinerary said we would have 30 mins after our 2 hours in 'The Breakers' to do the 'Coastal Walk', but Willy said the 30 minutes for the coastal walk was included in the 2 hours. Which was a shame as we didn't have enough time to walk very far. There were brief stops: at the church where JFK got married - we couldn't go inside as there was a service going on (it was a Sunday). and a brief stop as advertised at the historic synagogue (you can only go in if you pay for a 1 hour tour). There was actually a tour just starting which we would have been happy to pay for and would have liked to do. It would have been useful if Willy had told us we could have done it (as the free time in Newport was just starting) and the meeting place for after the free time was really close by. Newport is a lovely town, and Willy took us to 2 'scenic' viewing points' afterwards before heading back to Boston.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding your recent tour to Newport. We are delighted to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed visiting "The Breakers" and "The Marbles," and that the beautiful grounds left a positive impression on you. Newport is indeed a wonderful destination, and we're glad you had the chance to experience its charm.
We also appreciate your constructive comments about the guide, Willy, and the overall tour arrangements. Please allow us to address the specific points you raised, as we have looked into each of them carefully:
Regarding the guide's volume: We have reviewed our standard procedure, which requires the guide to gather the group and provide clear commentary at each stop before allowing free time for exploration. Willy confirms that this protocol was followed throughout the tour. We understand that acoustics inside a moving minibus can sometimes be challenging, and we will consider your suggestion about a microphone as a potential improvement for future trips.
Regarding the bottled water temperature: We do provide complimentary bottled water to all guests, but we do not have cold storage equipment on board the vehicle. Given the unusually hot weather in Boston leading up to your tour, the water may have become warm during transit. We apologize for any discomfort this caused and will explore practical ways to keep water cooler when weather conditions are extreme.
Regarding the Coastal Walk time: The tour itinerary notes that the 2-hour visit to "The Breakers" includes the option to explore the grounds and the Coastal Walk on your own. The total time allocated for this stop is fixed, and guests are free to manage their time within that window. We regret that you felt rushed and hope this context clarifies the arrangement.
Regarding the church stop and the synagogue/Fort Adams: The church visit was scheduled as a brief exterior photo stop (approximately 5 minutes), as stated in the itinerary. On the day of your tour, a Sunday service was in progress, which prevented interior access—this was beyond our control. As for the historic synagogue (which we believe refers to Fort Adams), the guided tour there requires advance reservations and a separate 1-hour commitment, which is not included in our itinerary. Willy had informed the group via text message that reservations were necessary, so same-day participation was not feasible. We understand your interest, and we will review whether clearer pre-tour communication about this option would be helpful for future guests.
Despite these points, we are very pleased that you found Newport lovely and enjoyed the scenic viewpoints Willy took you to before returning to Boston. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us refine our services, and we will continue to work with our guides to ensure guests receive clear and timely information throughout the journey.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future, and we will strive to make your next experience even more seamless and enjoyable.
