Great guide and great service! Nice that lunch was included and we got Gatorade and drinks on the bus after we were done. Awesome experience. Would do it again and recommend to others.
Our expirence was amazing! Samuel was a great trip leader and gave our family of 6 a remarkable trip down the river. We can say enough about West Virginia adventures or our guide! Thank you for a lifetime memory!
We had a blast! Sam is an excellent guide who really added a lot to the experience. Highly recommend!
I am the scoutmaster for Troop 236 in Raleigh NC. WV Adventures delivered an awesome experience for the scouts and the families that attended. The equipment was clean and in great condition. the Guides were knowledgeable, friendly and made the entire trip entertaining. the scouts felt safe and still got pushed out of there comfort zone to truly enjoy this memorable experience. Highly recommend and we will be back.
Fantastic experience. It exceeded my expectations. Crock, our guide had tons of river experience which meant he knew the best approach to the rapids. He also related a lot of local history.
My family of 4 had a beautiful adventure rafting with Samuel and Rob (the owner). The river was high and fast and so much fun! The locally owner, small town vibe of this company was exactly what we were looking for. My kids 14 and 11 had a blast and asked to do it again immediately after. We would highly recommend West Virginia Adventures. Thanks Samuel, Rob and Terry!
Visited with Scout Troop from Raleigh, NC and the trip was better than I could have imagined. Samuel was our liaison and was welcoming and fun, but also was sure we knew how to be safe. Glenn was my boat's guide and he mixed in great tidbits of local history throughout the trip. The rapids were thrilling and there was time for swimming, jumping off rocks and lunch on the shore 1/2 way down. I would highly recommend.
Excellent guide, waterfall was wonderful, swim and jump were extraordinary
Thank you for the great review, Lawrence! It sounds like you got to experience some of our favorite parts of a day on the New River—the whitewater, swimming, rock jumping, and that beautiful waterfall! We're glad your guide helped make the adventure one to remember. There is so much more to experiencing the Gorge than simply getting from one rapid to the next, and we love showing our guests some of those special places along the way. Thank you for choosing West Virginia Adventures. We hope to see you back for another adventure! ~ Crystal
Very well organized and very well led. Kristen was our raft guide and she was excellent, very skilled and patient! Samuel led the trip and very skilled and charismatic. The rapids are no joke and we felt well prepared by Samuel and Kristen. We all highly recommend this local/family owned group. The river and Gorge are breathtaking and provide memories for a lifetime.
Thank you for another incredible review, Nikolaos! We're thrilled your family had such a memorable experience with Kristen, Samuel, and the rest of our team. We'll definitely make sure they both see your kind words. The New River absolutely deserves respect, and preparing our guests for what's ahead while giving them the confidence to enjoy every minute of it is incredibly important to us. We're glad Kristen's patience and skill and Samuel's leadership helped everyone feel prepared for the adventure. And we couldn't agree more—the New River Gorge is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. Thank you for supporting our locally and family-owned outfitter and trusting us with your family's adventure! ~ Crystal
Buffet lunch was not a buffet lunch. Sandwiches were dry and very little protein. Chips and oatmeal cream pies were not exactly “fresh fruit and hummus”. Trip was also shorter than I thought it would be.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Chad. We're glad you joined us on the river, but we're disappointed that parts of the experience didn't match what you expected. We especially appreciate you bringing the lunch description to our attention. If the trip was advertised as including a buffet lunch with specific items such as fresh fruit and hummus, then what is provided should accurately reflect that description. We're reviewing both our meal offerings and how they're described so there isn't a disconnect between what guests expect when booking and what they receive on the river. We also understand your disappointment regarding the trip length. River trips can vary based on water levels, river conditions, group pace, and other factors, but we want our trip descriptions to set realistic expectations before guests arrive. We appreciate the feedback because it gives us an opportunity to improve. We want every guest to leave West Virginia Adventures feeling like they received a great experience and a great value, and we'll use your comments to help us do better. ~ Crystal
