Did the underground tour with Grace. She did a good job. What the tour tells you: Why and how the caverns were made What the tour does NOT tell you • You will descend 40 meters - about 250 steps. • You will climb 16 meters - about 150 steps. • Very narrow passages with little light. • If you are obese - you will not fit in the passages. • If you have knee or back problems, think twice about this. Overall, I was not impressed with this tour.
Our guide Clara was exceptional and provided a very interesting historical perspective. Large group size and a lot of steps.
A wonderful trip into the past, accompanied by a fantastic guide like Giulia, who was welcoming, attentive, and had an excellent way of telling the history. An experience to absolutely do. Thanks again.
Simply wonderful and interesting. An “interactive visit” made of stories and participation by everyone. Our guide Grazia was truly excellent, she involved us with a lot of enthusiasm. Go there if you can because the history of this place is truly engaging and in part very close to us.
This was an awesome experience! Definitely not for anyone claustrophobic. Our tour guide Grace was so nice and informative. Also a great way to get out of the heat!
A disappointing experience - the interesting bit was the history that was involved with the aqueduct but the group seemed very large and there was a lot of waiting about for other groups. And unfortunately there was another group that went down just 15 minutes before us so it could be really difficult to hear the guide telling us the history because of the echo from the tunnels - that group was very loud when our guide was talking and often were in the area adjacent to us so all you could hear was the chatter. Kind of felt like they were trying to get as much groups as possible down there at once.
The tour turned out to be a genuine and pleasant experience, thanks above all to the guide, Massimo. Although he has probably repeated this route hundreds of times, he managed to maintain a spontaneous and friendly tone, making the visit engaging for everyone. His ability to communicate clearly and to constantly verify that the group was participating was appreciated, both during the passage through the narrowest underground tunnels and in the narration of historical tales. He knew how to select and convey only the most essential information, without weighing down the story. The duration of the tour, about an hour, was adequate and satisfactory. It was particularly useful to have worn closed and comfortable shoes, a choice that made it easier to move in the underground spaces. Avoid loud music inside the store as it is decidedly disturbing and creates a sharp break with the emotions of the visit. Very interesting visit, especially in the storytelling.
We were lucky to have the young Tommy as a guide, who deeply loves his city and truly puts his soul into telling about it and making it known in the best way. His passion and his preparation enriched our visit enormously. Before starting the tour, Tommaso kept us for about 10 minutes to give us a brief introduction on the history of Naples, on the populations that have inhabited the city over the centuries and on the importance of the port of Naples, especially before the Second World War, providing us with a very interesting and useful historical context to better understand what we would see during the visit. The tour lasted about an hour and a half and Tommy explained everything to us in the smallest detail, which we appreciated very much. We were especially struck by his empathy in telling the story and in addressing even the most delicate topics. He also managed to involve all the participants, creating a pleasant and interactive atmosphere, with a nice and never boring way of doing things. His professionalism, seriousness and passion were definitely above our expectations. And to end on a high note, the legend of the Monaciello could not be missing, told by him with that pinch of irony that made it truly funny and brought a smile to everyone! 😄 A truly beautiful experience, which allowed us to get to know not only Naples Underground, but also the history and soul of this splendid city a little more deeply. Highly recommended! ❤️
Edoardo was simply top-notch! He guided us to the discovery of the underground in the Spanish Quarters with extraordinary competence, managing to mix history, anecdotes, and curiosities in an always compelling way. In addition to being extremely prepared, he was uniquely friendly and kind, making us feel at ease right away and conveying all his love for his city. Living this experience in the belly of the Spanish Quarters with him enriched our trip and we recommend it to anyone: a stop that is truly not to be missed. Heartfelt thanks, Edoardo!
