Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

Super fun trip with Army, our guide and 13 others. There wasn't one person in the trip I didn't like. I guess it makes sense to visit three wineries, but we all were a bit tipsy by the end (hence the reason for the shuttle service). Army was full of trivia on the Napa Valley region. Lunch was delicious - a box lunch but upgraded. I would say try it, you'll like it!
Viator's tour source, Platypus, was amazing! Pre-tour communications were outstanding...they were flexible, on-time, and provided us with an engaging, funny, informative driver, Richard Casey. The afternoon was spent wine tasting at 3 smaller, specialized Napa Valley wineries, learning about wine & wine production, and a enjoying a fabulous, boxed lunch. Our small group was great and we were all laughing like best of friends by the end of day. Never would we have been able to have this much fun on our own! Don't miss this experience...we highly recommend!
We are not drinkers. So the tour was only winery visit. So it’s a medium rated tour for non drinkers

While wine tasting is always optional on our tours, I certainly understand that a winery-focused day on the small-group tour may have less appeal for non-drinkers. Had we known in advance, we may have been able to guide you to more catered experience. Our private tours offer more flexibility, including other wine country activities and wineries with non-alcoholic options. I did this with my mom and it was amazing going to all of these smaller wineries. We love to support small businesses and we’re so well taken care of by the tour bus driver and the wineries. We truly had an unforgettable experience! Would for sure do this one again when we come back to Napa!

We have now gone on the Platypus Small Group Napa Valley wine tour twice (4 years apart). Both times it was a great experience. They take you to smaller vineyards and not the same ones. We did not repeat any of the vineyards we visited our time. The lunch included was fresh and delicious. Our guide, Louis, was knowledgeable and fun. They picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. There were about 5 couples total on the tour and this was similar to the last time we went. All fun people from all over. They picked us up about 10:45am and dropped us off at about 4:30pm.

Courtney was adorable! And very organized with making sure we left with our purchases for the day. Our group was so much fun as we shared stories and enjoyed our time together. It was like being with old friends. We loved the vineyards we visited mainly because they were family driven and passionate about their wines. Lunch on the grounds surrounded by the vineyard was breathtaking. It was a perfect way to experience Napa Valley and we highly recommend this tour. All the thinking was left up to Courtney and we didn’t have to give it a second thought. Thank you for an awesome day!!

We did a wine tour with Platypus through the Napa Valley. The beauty of this Tour is that the bus driver decides which winemakers to visit. Our guide Louis knew a lot about the surroundings of the wineries he had selected and the wines themselves than especially where the global key figures and history. The winemakers we visited on this ride were totally top, small family winemakers who produce delicious wines. The pity of this is that they do not export wines abroad or send them abroad at all, while this would have been interesting partly because there were very nice wines among them. At most wineries, if you buy two or three bottles on this tour, you won't have to pay for the tasting itself. In addition to the costs you pay to Platypus, you also have to deal with the costs of the wine tasting which cost € 25 per person per winery. This is normally more expensive, but because you come via Platypus there are price agreements. If you join this tour, you will pay for the tour where you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel or another place where you meet and where you do not have the pressure to drink wine if you do not want to. The diversity of the wineries is nice to see and you get to taste both white wines, Rose wines and red wines with each its own characteristics. The other nice aspect of this kind of tour is that you end up in a company that you don't know who they are or where they come from beforehand. Yet you quickly notice that you form a group with totally strange people and this in itself is very nice. In short, a must if you stay in the region of Napa Valley and you obviously love wine.

Comfortable, on-time shuttle. Chris was a fun and informative host. We appreciated the choice of wineries and tastings. This tour kept costs reasonable for moderately experienced wine drinkers. Would book again.
