Myths of Maui Luau Dinner and Show

Description
An amazing sunset is just the beginning of a dazzling evening under the stars at Maui's longest-running luau, where beach-side seating, free-flowing drinks, all-you-care-to-eat buffet dinner, and authentic Polynesian dance combine for the perfect Hawaiian evening. Your evening begins with a cold beverage and photo opportunities as you enjoy watching the sun dip behind the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. The dinner buffet features authentic Hawaiian fare including kalua pork cooked in a traditional imu, an underground oven that cooks the meat to tender perfection. There's even a kids' buffet featuring chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and Maui potato chips. After dinner, the stage comes alive with rhythmic drumming, traditional Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan, and Maori performances and thrilling fire-knife dances. With vivid choreography and mesmerizing music, the show does more than entertain—it also tells the stories and legends of the islands.

Wonderful show and great food!! Even though we had rain due to Lala coming in it was still a great experience.
I wanted to love this. There were some good parts. My kids liked the dancing, we got leis. That was about the end of the good. This was the worst food I had in Hawaii. Chicken was dry. Pork lacked any kind of flavor. Our waiter guy asked if we wanted drinks, we requested soda..... it never came. At the very end he came back and asked if we wanted drinks which we again asked for cokes which we did get the 2nd time. I have been to many luaus and this one just doesn't come close to living up to the others I have been to. The dancers were ok but it felt like there should have been more entertainment while eating/getting food as the dancing did not start until later then when it did start they took a break....... they had just started. The dancers were not what I was expecting..... not like what you see at other shows. We ended up leaving early. Also they tell you to come early I assumed to get a seat..... nope it was assigned seating and we were as far back as we could get..... not great with 2 small kids who want to see and me being very short it was very hard to see the show. It was very disappointing. I would not go again, especially for the price paid.

We had the VIP experience, we had an absolutely fantastic evening, being greeted given garlands, we were shown to our table, Dina our server for the evening was great, always keeping us topped up with cocktails. The buffet was lovely, pleasant of food on offer. The background music was good adding to the atmosphere. The show was amazing, we both loved it.
What a pleasure to read your enthusiastic review, OnAir34688472377! We are so glad your VIP experience at Myths of Maui luau created such wonderful memories, from the warm welcome to the show itself. It is especially meaningful to know that Dina made your evening extra special and that you enjoyed the food, cocktails, and atmosphere. We would be delighted to have you join us again for another unforgettable night!
I went in to this with no expectations as I have never done anything like this. I was absolutely blown away by the food, by the dancing, by the commentary, by the myths of Maui! My family and I (even the teenager) had an amazing time!
What a fun evening! From the very beginning when you’re seated by a gracious host to the final bows the evening is filled with positive energy. The luau food was a good variety and tasted great. They had a good variety of drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. The show was paced very well. A good variety of first stage as well as the sunset stage was utilized throughout the performance. Really like how it showcased all of the Polynesia.
Awesome show, great staff: the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the ticket purchasing and signage at the venue was not clear where I should park. It left me concerned that I may be towed or ticketed. But the event far outweighed the issue with parking.
Beautiful views, amazing food and an incredible show. We had the VIP experience and had a great time. The dancers were amazing and beautiful and we highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience a fantastic luau.
The night of our show it rained the entire time. No weather apps, radar, etc indicated the weather was like this. We were given ponchos after standing in the rain to get in. Tables, chairs, food all soaked. Such an unpleasant experience. They should have cancelled but why would they when they already had our money. We left early because it was just no fun and especially with kids. We picked this one because of it being a buffet with kid friendly options. Would not recommend based on this greediness.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Jewels4580. We are truly sorry your night at Myths of Maui luau was so disrupted by the rain, and that it made for such an uncomfortable evening for you and your family. When weather creates challenges like this, we know a fast response from our Guest Relations and service teams matters—especially when families and children are involved. Your feedback will be shared with our leadership so we can reflect deeply on how we handle similar situations in the future. We appreciate the chance to learn from your visit.
Food is mediocre. They don’t give you Leis. Everything is an extra charge. For the price you pay it’s worse than a chain buffet. It was raining and outdoors. The only redeeming factor was the actual show
The staff at the VIP entrance were rude and not friendly. The website states to arrive 45 min piror, which we did along with 2 other couples. We sat waiting and host came out and was like why are you here so early and said website is wrong (someone should fix it then). I asked if there was somewhere we could sit and have a drink to wait and was given short response of NO. Other couples arrived and lined up at the rope despite seeing the early arrivers sitting. When another hostess came out and began checking ppl in she didn't bother to ask who had arrived first. We all got in line and I went to the front to ask what the process was and at that point found out it was assigned seating. Why bother having VIP ticket holders arrive so early if their seating is already set? Once we entered everything was fine, servers came to table for bar service, covered snack at table, there were local vendors and photo opportunity. The weather wasn't cooperating with strong winds and then rain started during the show. They provided rain ponchos which helped and thankfully rain stopped in time for the fire show. The buffett was ok but the flies while eating were annoying. I definitely feel the whole experience is overpriced and was just ok. Not sure I would go back or recommend.
Thank you for sharing such a detailed account of your visit with us, Erica. It is clear from your review that your arrival experience, as well as some aspects of our service, did not reflect the welcoming environment we strive to create for every guest, especially those holding VIP tickets. We are genuinely sorry for the frustrating interaction you had at check-in and for the confusion caused by our website information. Your feedback will help our Guest Relations team address these gaps and make important adjustments. We are glad that once you entered, you were able to enjoy certain parts of the evening despite the weather and other challenges. Still, it is disappointing to know the experience left you questioning the overall value. Thank you again for letting us know about your visit.
