Mysterious Uzbekistan

The owner of Doca Tours is an excellent tour guide; he speaks very good German and is also an author and translator of various books. In Bukhara, he leads guests to an excellent miniature artist whom one would not find on the bazaar alone. His hospitality is wonderful. I still like to remember the wonderful dinner at his house in Samarkand. He is also very caring during border crossings and prepares his guests well for the formalities and main control points.

Very good experience in Uzbekistan We took a group trip through Uzbekistan with DOCA TOURS and the truth is that we liked it a lot. It was our first time in Central Asia and we did not know very well what to expect, but it surprised us for the better. We visited Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. The Registan of Samarkand is impressive and Khiva looks like it was taken from a movie. We also really enjoyed the bazaars and the local food. We tried plov, samsa, and a lot of bread I want to especially highlight Allayor, who is the tour operator for DOCA TOURS. He was attentive to the organization of the trip and always available when we needed something. We had a small change during the trip, but the team resolved it quickly. Our group was international, and we were very surprised that the team could communicate in so many languages: Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Portuguese, German, English, French, Russian, Tajik, and others. For a group with people from different countries, this makes things much easier. I liked that the trip was not just visiting monuments, but also getting to know the markets, trying local food, and seeing a bit of daily life. Our 12-day journey through Uzbekistan with Doca Tours and our guide Oybek Ostanov was simply extraordinary. Oybek speaks perfect German and has impressive knowledge about the culture, history, and politics of Central Asia – especially, of course, about historical and modern Uzbekistan. For us, the trip was primarily a cultural journey, and thanks to Oybek's exciting stories, his well-founded insights, and his openness to discussions, each day became enriching. There was practically no question that remained unanswered. What truly made this trip special was Oybek himself. We spent twelve days with him, and after a short time, it felt as if he was almost part of the family. His warm, likable, and authentic nature significantly contributed to our feeling comfortable at all times. Another highlight was the culinary experience. Oybek guided us through Uzbek cuisine and took us to authentic restaurants that we would never have found as regular travelers. We dined at the highest level while always experiencing down-to-earth and genuine local cuisine. The entire trip was perfectly organized from start to finish. Oybek and the team from Doca Tours always considered our wishes regarding accommodation, daily planning, and meals, while also paying attention to a reasonable price-performance ratio. We look back on this trip with great gratitude and would travel again with Doca Tours and Oybek at any time. Perhaps next time we will go together to Tajikistan or Turkmenistan. The three of us traveled with Oybek Ostanov from Doca Tours in February 2026 between Tashkent and Khiva along the historic Silk Road. We came to know and appreciate Oybek not as a traditional tour guide, but more as a personal travel companion. This allowed us to immerse ourselves deeply in the history, religion, culture, landscapes, and cuisine of Uzbekistan and, as a “travel family,” visit places that unfortunately remain inaccessible to larger groups. In February—perhaps not the most popular time to travel, as winter gives way to spring—we experienced the country from a unique perspective: a snow-covered Khiva, the deserted Timur Mausoleum in Samarkand, and a mountain village in the foothills of the Tien Shan. Our conversations with Oybek enriched us and broadened our horizons—the very best one can hope for on a journey! Thank you very much!

We had requested and booked an 18-day Uzbekistan trip with Doca Tours. It was important to us to get as much freedom as possible and had therefore deliberately refrained from booking a permanent guide in the individual cities to go at our own pace. It was important for us to get a good mix of culture and cities on the one hand, as well as landscape, nature and hikes on the other. As a means of transport we chose a car with driver , as well as a route by train. Oybek quickly worked out a first good tour suggestion for us and incorporated even smaller additional wishes. In doing so, Oybek responded to all our wishes and implemented them. All services provided by the booked trip worked very well, all drivers were always on time, friendly and got us safely to our destinations. The accommodations and hotels booked were well located , clean and tidy. For our mountain trip to the village of Gelan, Oybek had recommended a local guide, which proved to be a very good recommendation on site. We were able to undertake 3 very nice walks in the area of the village with incredibly beautiful views. We met many lovely nice people here, were allowed to participate in village life and discover a lot. These 3 days in the village of Gelan were one of the highlights of our trip. Thanks again to Oybek and his team for allowing us to have a very nice and eventful trip and can advise anyone planning a trip to this region only to Doca Tours and Oybek. Thanks again

Wonderful Uzbekistan and wonderful Nodir, our guide who speaks perfect Italian. (and wonderful driver ). The trip was beautiful, the perfect organization. There were 4 of us and we were pampered, assisted, guided in an exemplary way. We told our guide that we would like to visit non-tourist places and he pleased us by defining us then Not TOURISTS, but TRAVELERS and we loved this. Thanks for everything!!!!

Very positive experience, Nodir is a very special tour guide, speaks perfect Italian, is very competent about the monuments visited, answered all our questions without the slightest uncertainty. He is a passionate supporter of his country and culture as well as being very nice. That’s enough , I don’t want to exaggerate !!
