Itinerary
At 08.00am you will be picked up from your hotel to start your half day tour visiting Luxor Museum and Mummification Museum. Start the day visiting the Luxor Museum located in the Egyptian city of Luxor (ancient Thebes). Inaugurated in 1975, the museum is housed in a small, purpose-built building. The range of artifacts on display is far more restricted than the country’s main collections in the Museum of Antiquities in Cairo; this was, however, deliberate, since the museum prides itself on the quality of the pieces it has, the uncluttered way in which they are displayed, and the clear multilingual labeling used. Then Transfer to Mummification museum It is located in the Egyptian city of Luxor. It stands on the corniche, in front of the Mina Palace Hotel, to the north of Luxor Temple, overlooking the River Nile. The museum is intended to provide visitors with an understanding of the ancient art of mummification. The Ancient Egyptians applied embalming techniques to many species, not only to dead humans. Later transfer back to your hotel in Luxor.

Not worth the 400 EGP to visit. Takes only 45 minutes to visit. They open at 5:00 PM in the Evenings.
thank you for visiting us and making your trip. We’re glad that you found what you were looking for. It is our goal that you are always happy with what you do with us. Hope to see you again in Egypt.
Maybe because it was at the end of the tour and we were so tired, or maybe because we went after visiting the temples and valley of the kings, but whatever the reason was, we didn’t enjoy this venue. It did have the first mummified corpse we’ve seen, so there was that, but other than that this place was less than average. We didn’t like the way the ticket clerk treated us either, he demanded an ID to confirm we were Arabs or Egyptians, even though we clearly look it. We understand there are laws, but he could’ve been more gracious in asking. He did eventually let us buy the tickets when we said we didn’t want to go in, but maybe that had something with us not enjoying as well.
We had a very nice visit to two museums with our guide Ekran! She explained the history with a lot of detail and knowledge. Both museums are fairly small so this was a great way to pass 2 hours out of the sun. We enjoyed seeing both museums and would recommend this tour.

This is a nice tour to see the excavation of Luxor and the mummies found. The two museums aren’t very big, so you can easily do this tour in 2-3 hours. Ekran was a very nice guide and explained the history very well. We would recommend this tour if you want to leave your hotel and see some history indoors (to stay away from the heat & sun).

The absolute delicate and beauty of our entire tour is without words. One must experience to believe and digest history with an exception tour guide ( Alaa Elfasny) to boot. I'm grateful not only for our guide but his patience and knowledge of the city of Luxor...you will be in good hands.
