Description

We’ve brought together a team of internationally renowned artists, designers & historians — both from Broadway & the experiential world — to design the museum. It will be educational, but told in a fun, accessible, brightly colored way! We are going to share information about the history of the Broadway theaters through projection mapped videos, the timeline of Broadway told through immersive environments that will leave people’s Instagram feeds full of great photos and give guests a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a Broadway show by spotlighting all the jobs and what it takes to create a Broadway show. There are other surprises and sections of the museum that will excite fans young and old!

Lovely Museum, well worth a visit.

What a lovely museum. Well priced and we could have spend longer if not had other commitments. It wasn't too busy and you can mill around easily at your own rate. Staff were helpful. Best of theatre fans obviously but really liked they also had a floor on technical production which was excellent.

loved the exhibits at Museum of Broadway

We very much enjoyed the exhibits in this relatively new museum! I particularly liked the overview of Broadway history and highlighting of some of the most important shows throughout the history, with interesting photos and artifacts. We spent over 2 hours there, and could have spent longer. It was fun and well done!

Theater Buff

Very interesting place. It is a little small museum, but has a lot items. Love the quick movie they show to explain the history of Broadway in NYC.

Didn't love it : /

I wanted to love this. I am definitely in the target audience for "The Museum of Broadway." Rather than having many artifacts, however, the museum was more like an interactive presentation on the History of Broadway. I felt like I was in a very good PowerPoint presentation. The museum was clean and well-presented, but there was too much text mixed with flashy walls and lighting. Not a lot of artifacts, and again - a lot of text. I didn't have a BAD time, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

A Fantastic Celebration of Broadway

The Museum of Broadway was an absolutely wonderful experience. We loved every moment of it. The exhibits are vibrant, creative, and full of energy — a real celebration of theatre history and the magic of the stage. We only wished we’d had more time to explore everything properly, because there’s so much to see and enjoy. It’s a must‑visit for anyone who loves Broadway or just appreciates great storytelling and design.

For Broadway theater buffs, this is a MUST-visit!

For true Broadway theater buffs, this is a great new stop to include in your Manhattan visit. The museum opened in 2022, after the pandemic. It’s located in the heart of the theater district, on 45th street just east of 7th Avenue. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours here; there’s lots to absorb (we enjoyed it for more than four hours!). Three floors of exhibits take Broadway lovers chronologically and geographically through the history of Broadway theater with eye-catching and engaging exhibits, narratives, original costumes, stage sets, scripts, lyric sheets and interviews. You’ll see a jacket worn by one of the Sharks and you’ll step into Doc’s drugstore from “West Side Story.” You’ll find yourself in a cornfield from 1943’s “Oklahoma,” where you’ll also see a page from Richard Rodgers’ lyrics book listing in pencil all the words he could think of rhyming with “surrey.” Costumes abound, but there are also fascinating exhibits about the backstage magic of Broadway, from writing to music, lighting to makeup and much, much more. This museum is well worth its admission price.

Cool museum on the history of Broadway shows

We needed a time filler since the weather was not great and this did a great job. Cool to see the history and all the memorabilia. Glad we could fit that in.
