The tour was amazing. Better than I ever could have imagined.
I had a really wonderful time on this trip with Kelwin. He's a very knowledgeable and lovely guide who speaks excellent English and wants nothing more than to provide a good experience. Monkey island, a reserve for black market/pet/injured rescued monkeys, is amazing and the monkeys are so playful and numerous. The island is so peaceful and I was lucky enough to see sloths too. Feeding the tropical birds, turtles, alligators and massive paiche fish that grow up to 3m was an incredible experience! These animals too he said are rescued and released back into the wild. The fish in the small lake rising up with their big mouths and lunging out of the water made me jump and scream the first time! It's quite an experience to witness. We also saw grey dolphins in the river, and I travelled in luxury up and down the river on a hammock slung from the ceiling of the boat. It was such a lovely day trip and I highly recommend!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience; our guide was very friendly, it was definitely a great day for us. We recommend this to anyone wanting a day tour in Iquitos. Our recommendation is to bring snacks to eat while on the boat trip :)
Our guide Anderson on the way and Davidson on Monkey Island were excellent. Very helpful and informative. I loved the conservation concept of the Center. The stop at the Don Pedrito estate and the walk to the tree.
My family and i had a great time with Kelwin. From Grandmother to teenagers, Kelwin delivered a great tour. He was very accommodating and flexible with our schedule. He communicates well and keeps you up to date with plans. Kelwin is also very knowledgeable and provided many fun facts for the region and the animals we saw. I just wish we had more time for additional tours with him. I highly recommend Kelwin.
Kelwin was an absolutely amazing guide for our family! Everything was so smooth and professional. He tailored the day based on what he noticed the kids were interested in. We loved our day with Kelwin and couldn’t recommend him more.
My partner and I had an incredible time with Lito as our tour guide. Kelwin was very communicative and quickly responded to our questions in planning our trip. We wanted to add a stop at the lapuna tree, which wasn’t originally included in our booking, but Kelwin and Lito were very accommodating. Lito was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who was able to answer our questions and give insight into all of the things we were seeing. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough—you won’t be disappointed!
Kelvin’s is very dedicated to showing his culture and way of life
Monkey island was phenomenal! They do such important rescue and rehabilitation work. Please consider supporting La Isla de Los Monos rescue by visiting! Kelwin got us here safely and pointed out dolphins as we went down the Amazon River. He made sure to slow down and/or stop so we were able to see the dolphins better and take pictures. I definitely recommend this tour in Iquitos!
We messaged Kelwin before to specify we wanted to visit Monday Island which he arranged for us. We visited the huge tree and Kelwin made everything easy and arranged a tuk tuk rather than walk (we were happy to walk but just went with the flow) We had the boat to ourselves which had a canopy so you don’t burn or get rained on. He has life jackets which we needed when the water got choppy as the heavens opened (it rained) Monkey island was fantastic seeing genuine rescue and conservation . He was very knowledgeable and we felt we were in capable hands. He had lots of friends on the water. Also we spotted River Dolphin! Not guaranteed so that felt special. Kelwin is a really nice guy, looked after us well.
