Description
At 10.15am, journey to Mona in the Posh Pit—the ferry’s lavish private lounge, bar and deck—devour complimentary canapés and beverages on the thirty minute voyage along the River Derwent. As you jump off the ferry, meet your Mona Host on the jetty landing, who will escort you to the Void Bar, introduce you to the bartender and get you sorted with a cocktail to fortify yourself for a quick plunge into the nearby galleries.
After some art, you’ll arrive in the museum’s Faro Bar and Restaurant for a feast from rockstar executive chef Vince Trim—including fancy matched drinks from Mona’s wine cellar and access to Event Horizon, James Turrell’s neuron-tingling light artwork.
At 3pm, your host will escort you to The Source Restaurant—for sweeping views, a final sip, and a special gift, before you head back underground.
Suitably addled/prepared, you’ll explore David Walsh’s subterranean collection of art and antiquities before slipping back onto the ferry (further snacks, drinks).

Such a fun experience
We really enjoyed our Posh Pit experience on the way to and from the MONA. Staff made it feel special and kept us topped up with mango and guava mimosas. Drink options included alcohol and hot drinks. We had savoury canapes on the way and sweet on the way back. It's a quick 25 minute trip either way so soak up the fun!

Posh Pit a MUST! 😍
We decided to spend the extra and go into the Posh Pit on the ferry, it was fabulous. So efficient and organised. Drinks and canapés in our fluffy booth. Honestly it was a hoot. Only let down was it was only 25mins. Coulda stayed on there an hour! Loved it!

What a hoot!
What a hoot. The posh pit experience is a must do. I had no idea what it was anout but loved every minute of it.
Cheetah carpet, fur lined walls, bubbles a plenty and sublime canapes. Oysters for breakfast. We had only just arrived i Hobart before jumping on the ferry, so bubbles and oysters with a 3 hour time difference meant a very early breakfast. Loved it. Staff very attentive.

Mind blowing MONA
This sounds expensive but worth every cent. A truly mind blowing experience from the start in the posh pit, our own guide Reece, extraordinary collection and the gallery structure itself alone is worth a visit. Then to top it off with the lunch at Faro which is seriously one of the best meals I have had world wide. Then the gift bag and access to a private light experience and then the posh pit back to Hobart docks. I'll be doing it again without doubt.

Posh Pit the only way to travel
We paid extra for the Posh Pit and and it was fantastic! Non-stop drinks and a small platter of food was appreciated, especially on the way home. Staff are SUPER awesome and friendly, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The crew was a real credit to the organisation. Well done guys!

Take the Ferry to MONA
Took the MONA ferry to visit the MONA. The boarding and disembarking was well organized. The ferry had a bar with snacks and a lot of interesting features making it feel more like a roaming lounge than a ferry. Great way to get to MONA.

Posh pit please
Mona Ferry, MONA, Hobart Tasmania: Ferry in absolute style in the posh pit if you’re making your way to the most provocative museum in the world. Posh pit return – coasting the waterways in a VIP seating area with small, coiffed and scrumptious eats and free-flow juices or Morilla wines. This is your wine tasting in 30 minutes (each way). I am not a big fan of Morilla wines, but it was fun to do your flight tastings in larger servings. Riesling bubblies are the best – go for a mimosa if you’re doing the morning ferry. I wouldn’t do the chardonnay nor rose again. We had posh, top-notch service from Emma with a vast knowledge of wines, as well as the effervescent Aidan. Do yourself a favour and splash out on the posh pit. The experience is well worth the shelling. #eatstylishtravelstylish

Pleasure cruise on the bay to Mona.
Great and comfortable way to Mona and to see the Bay Area.
The weird and wonderful seating (sheep and rockets).
Ability to have coffee , food and alcohol on board is a bonus.

Rock on down to MONA Avenue
Great way to travel to MONA. Nice touch with the brilliant food served and the smooth cruise from Constitution Dock to the docks of MONA. Indulge and travel like the rockstar that you deserve!
