Really helpful people (brothers!) and great quality boat

The boat ride itself was beautiful, and the experience could have been great. Unfortunately, our experience with the operator before departure was extremely concerning. We were a group of two female travelers and politely declined the optional skipper add-on. After that, Chris insisted that I undergo an extensive “practice” and testing process before he would allow us to take the boat. This experience is specifically marketed toward beginners with no previous boating experience, yet I was required to spend approximately one hour practicing difficult maneuvers, including navigating tight spaces and making repeated U-turns. He repeatedly told us that he could not give us the boat unless I “passed” all of his tests. The entire situation felt unnecessarily intimidating, uncomfortable, and excessive. Out of our five-hour rental, one full hour was consumed by this extended “training and testing,” leaving us only four hours to actually enjoy the experience. As a result, we did not have enough time to comfortably visit all the places we had planned and had to rush through the remainder of our trip. What made the extensive “testing” even more difficult to understand was that none of those complex maneuvers were necessary during the actual trip. We visited during peak season, yet there was plenty of open water throughout the route. We were never required to navigate through tight spaces between boats or perform the repeated U-turns and difficult maneuvers we had spent an hour practicing. Even when arriving at our destinations, docking and maneuvering in confined spaces was not required. The level of testing felt completely disproportionate to what was actually needed to safely operate the boat during the experience. What was particularly concerning was the feeling that we were being treated differently because we were two women traveling alone. After reading other reviews, I did not see similar accounts of couples—particularly those traveling with men—being subjected to an hour-long driving test before being allowed to depart. I cannot speak to the operator’s intentions, but the difference in treatment was significant enough that it left us feeling unfairly singled out. I understand and appreciate the importance of safety checks, especially for beginners. However, a reasonable safety briefing is very different from withholding a prepaid experience for an hour while repeatedly pressuring customers to purchase an optional skipper service. The boat ride itself was beautiful, but this experience left us feeling uncomfortable, pressured, and unfairly treated.

My wife and I had an amazing time! Niko gave a great lesson and showed us on Google Maps all the best spots to hit. We had an amazing experience!! The best beaches and rock formations on Milos are ONLY accessible by boat, so make a boating trip a must-do on your itinerary. And there’s no better company than Aphrodite! The brothers are the best!

The team is very nice and friendly; they gave us tips on where to stop, and they also left us a cooler with cold drinks. Gasoline is paid separately.

Had a great experience! Able to hit all the spots from Kalamos beach to Kleftiko. Chris dropped pins for us on Google Maps so we didn’t miss anything and gave a quick overview/lesson before sending us on our way. Would highly recommend, expect around 60€ for fuel.

Great boat ride along the coast - it was too cold for swimming this time of year but it was nice to see the different colors of the cliffs and also so many caves. We ended up hiring a skipper for 50 euro - totally worth it! Only caution is for people with mobility issues - it’s a little tough getting in & out of the boat at the dock.
