We’ll meet at Food Hood Tours Mexico, where we’ll grab our bikes and start our taco adventure, pedaling from one taquería to another and tasting some of the best tacos recommended by the Michelin guide. As we ride through two of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods, we’ll try traditional tacos taken to the next level. Each taco has its own story, and we’ll share these anecdotes as we move from place to place. We’ll stop at four Michelin-recommended taquerías, each offering a unique experience. Before heading back, we’ll surprise you with a fifth taco—our taco surprise that we believe will soon make the Michelin list. At the end, we’ll enjoy a traditional neighborhood michelada while sharing tips for your trip in Mexico, giving you a true taste of local culture. Important note: We don’t visit the Michelin-starred taquería, as the wait is around 2 hours and they don’t take reservations.

First things first, let's drop the formalities! We're among friends here, sharing our home—Mexico City—in a fun and respectful way. At this point, we'll check out our bikes and helmets while chatting a bit to break the ice. Get ready for a laid-back, friendly vibe as we embark on this adventure together!
We start the tour at a taquería famous for its tacos de guisado, which are basically main dishes served as a taco—just the way we love them here in Mexico City. Prepared just like a Mexican grandmother would make them and accompanied by homemade salsas, you'll enjoy an authentic Mexican flavor while learning about the history behind these tacos.
At our second stop, we’re heading to some fancier tacos. While tacos are usually made with corn or wheat tortillas, this stop takes a different approach. In fact, the taco is quite basic, but it has a flavor that we’ve only tasted here. We’ve decided it’s what makes this taco unique, and it’s a must-try!
At our third stop, we’ll chill at Parque México to soak in the vibrant vibes of Mexico City and learn what life is all about in this neighborhood. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy the scenery, and discover the rich culture and stories that make this area so special. Get ready to dive into the local scene!
At this stop, we’ll dive into a taco with a unique adobo that sets it apart from the rest. Tacos al pastor are a true gem in Mexico City, and this place really stands out. They’ve got a salsa that you absolutely need to try, and the story of how it all began is so authentic and traditional that you won’t want to miss hearing it!
At this point we will to take a quick break to make room for more tacos later. Let’s explore the bohemian neighborhood of Roma and learn a bit about its history and what to do here. We’ll share some tips on what to do in this area with you.
Next, we'll continue with more tacos, of course! Now that we have more room, we’re heading to a spot that caught our attention with its unique flavors, very much in the style of northern Mexico.
At this point, you’ll probably be quite satisfied, but there’s always room for one more taco. This taco might not be on the Michelin recommendations list yet, but we believe it could easily make it soon. Its flavor is incredibly rich and unique. We’d love to share it with you, but it’s up to you if you still have some room!
Now we’re back at the starting point where we stored our bikes. By now, we know each other better, and to properly say goodbye, we’ll enjoy a michelada just like we make it in the neighborhood. It’s quite different from the versions you might know from other countries. Plus, we’ll share some personal tips on what to do in the city during your visit.

Taco riders…great experience.
Raoul was an excellent bike tour guide. Greeted us at beginning of tour. Explained the routes and places we’d stop. Along the way , he’d checked back to see if group was keeping up on bikes. Alerted us on various pot holes and hanging wires in streets.. Told history and described the food of each stops. The personal side stories was a nice touch. Provided us with rain ponchos for the rain. Really enjoyed the trip

A Mexico City Must
Our Michelin Taco Tour was easily one of the highlights of our time in Mexico City. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, and the tacos were absolutely outstanding—fresh, flavorful, distinctive, and genuinely some of the best we had during the entire trip. It was a fantastic way to experience the depth and variety of Mexico City’s taco culture rather than simply visiting a collection of popular spots. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was our guide, Axle. He was incredibly friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to from the very beginning. He did an excellent job of making the tour feel personal and relaxed while still sharing plenty of interesting information about the food, the neighborhoods, and the culture surrounding each stop. He kept everyone involved in the conversation and created an atmosphere that felt much more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend than being on a typical organized tour. Axle also made us feel completely safe while riding through an unfamiliar city. Navigating Mexico City by bike could have felt intimidating, but he was attentive, confident, and careful throughout the tour, allowing us to relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about traffic or finding our way. Axle’s enthusiasm was genuine and contagious, and his personality added so much to the experience. The combination of phenomenal tacos, a well-planned itinerary, a safe and enjoyable ride, and such an engaging guide made this an unforgettable afternoon. We would enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mexico City, whether you are a serious food lover or simply want a fun and authentic introduction to the city. And if you have the opportunity to tour with Axle, even better. He was absolutely fantastic.

GREAT for Kids!
BOOK THIS NOW!!! Simon and Berto were ABOVE and BEYOND! We had 3 kiddos ( age 6,3 and 1) and they always made sure we were safe, together, and well fed! The tacos were incredible - GF options available - and the kids LOVED the bike ride. Would 100% go back and book again! Can't say enough awesome things about this tour!!! thank you guys!

Best bike tour ever!
Had a fantastic bike tour with Raul! He was friendly and very knowledgeable providing us historical facts throughout the tour. We ate at 5 spots, all different and very tasty. I was full by the middle of the tour, it was so much fun! I would recommend this tour group specifically!

Best day of our trip
This was my favorite part of visiting Mexico City. Mario was the best guide; he answered every question and walked us through the nuance of local history— as well as the details of the taquerias. After the ride , he could have bounced. Instead, he stayed with us to explain more about Mexico and discuss geopolitics informing today’s events. Muchas gracias Mario. Good luck with your degree!!

DO IT!! This experience was so much fun! Not only do you get incredible tacos, you also get to explore so many other parts of the city. The tour guides made this experience so fun, they were 10/10! It is a lot of food so don’t overeat in the beginning like I did! I ran out of stomach space towards the end
