It was a great experience to walk through the market (though, be prepared for heat depending on the season) and the food we made was excellent. I will take some tricks home.
This was a great experience. Sasha was excellent and taught me little tricks that will improve the way I’ve made things before.
Sasha was such a pleasure of a tour guide for our Cancun Food Tour! He not only was knowledgeable about all the foods and spices that make up the recipes that we went through, but he was willing to work with everyone in the group despite their level of cooking expertise. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see some of the culture of Cancun and try their hand at creating some tasty dishes!
We got to visit the local Mercado 23 to pick the ingredient, made the guacamole and tortilla, and chef made the mango salsa, and other stuffs. Fun experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute highlight of our vacation! We would do this cooking class again anytime and can wholeheartedly recommend it. The visit to the local market was already a great experience. You get an authentic insight into Mexican culture, get to know the fresh ingredients, and learn many fascinating background details. Afterward, we cooked together – everything was super organized, relaxed, and at the same time incredibly interesting. Since a few participants canceled at short notice, we even had a small VIP tour, which made the experience even more personal. Consideration was shown for every single person, everyone was included, and you felt welcome from the very first moment. We were especially surprised by the guacamole. Although we have often made it ourselves, we would never have thought that it could taste so much better! All other dishes were also prepared with fresh ingredients and were simply incredibly delicious. The entire team was warm, friendly, humorous, and involved with a great deal of passion. You can tell how much Mexican cuisine and culture mean to them. Anyone visiting Cancún should definitely take this cooking class. It is not just a cooking class, but a true cultural experience that will be remembered for a long time. Many thanks to Sasha and Alex for this wonderful day!
Sasha was amazing. He explained everything well and was patient with my mother. First time I actually liked Guacamole. Would highly recommend this experience.
Loved it! We walked the market before the class with our guide/chef explaining different things to us. We shopped while he purchased the fresh ingredients for our meal. When preparing the food, our chef was eager for us to learn and know about the authentic Mexican food. Our waiter came out dancing while balancing our drinks in his head! Favorite part was making the fresh guacamole. Highly recommend!
Personalized Fun Educational Delicious G and Angel were great hosts. We learned a lot about the products in the open air market. Then the restaurant cooking class was hands on. It's the third time I have done this one and would do it again.
Market had good souvenir shopping, also showed our teens a more realistic (non-resort) side of Cancun. It was nice to browse and not feel accosted, prices were slightly negotiable but not like the haggling at other places. Cooking was not complicated- amateurs could learn basics and feel successful, established cooks could improve technique and try new recipes. I've made some of the dishes since returning home. Included transport was clean, safe, and convenient. Excellent family activity.
George was awesome and Alex's salsa is the bomb!
