Excellent tour and Ken was great at explaining everything and making it supwr interesting
The guide Erika was not at all impressive.. She spent a lot of time in the Egyptian Sculpture section.. Just took us to the European painting Section.. and left us in front of Rembrandt painting.. Did not discuss any painting of any Impressionist/ post Imperial or for that matter of any era.. Kept saying that you guys have a lot of time on your own.. SEEMS SHE HAS ZERO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT EUROPEAN PAINTINGS… Total wastage of money and time… Could have done it on our own..
Hi Nilanjana, Thanks for your review. We pride ourselves on our guides' historic and storytelling expertise. The description for this tour states that this is a small-group tour that covers the highlights of the museum, from ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian masterpieces to some of the most recognizable works from modernity. It is impossible to cover everything in the museum as they have a massive collection of art and artifacts. If you have any interest in specific pieces or movements, we encourage you to tell your guide. They will always be happy to show you and answer any questions. Thank you.
Ross did an amazing job showing us the highlights of the Met! Very knowledgeable. Highly recommended
Great experience. Very knowledgeable guide who shared interesting information. And navigated the museum with ease.
Chris was a very knowledgeable guide with academic qualifications in fine arts. He was enthusiastic about the tour and said he enjoyed doing it. He gave us a wonderful overview of the development of Western art and lookedafter us well.
There is NO way you will see everything in one day!!! Alex was a phenomenal tour guide! He's super knowledgeable and answered all questions anyone in the group had.
Our tour guide, Ken, was amazing. He gave us a comprehensive deep dive into highlighted pieces. I learned an incredible amount of information about artists, the narratives behind the pieces, and the interpretations of the pieces themselves. He increased my appreciation and love of art. Highly recommended!
The meeting point was easy to identify. Our guide Alex was very helpful. The group walked in good pace with a couple of short breaks. This tour chose to focus on a single or two items in selected exhibit halls and provided insights for the noted items. So it is not a whirlwind of photo ops. It omits the Asian hall for example. Overall it is a very good introduction to the MET, yet with some in-depth information. As we did an afternoon tour on a Friday we could also take advantage of the late closing hours of the MET.
Excellente guide, Erika. Very knowledgeable, captivating and very nice!
