Great experience in the desert

The guide gave a presentation about the red land at our hotel (you get a 10€ discount when you stay in Wadi Sabarah) which caught our interest. So we booked this 3h trip and went with only our group of 4 friends. We had no expectations and were all the more surprised about the beauty of the desert. We learned about how local animals and ancient tribes survive in the desert. It was the perfect end to our vacation in Egypt.

Operator response

It’s wonderful to hear that you and your friends enjoyed discovering the beauty of the desert with us. 😊 One of the things we love most about our excursions is sharing the hidden secrets of the desert and showing our guests that there is so much more to discover than meets the eye. We’re so happy you enjoyed learning about the wildlife and the lives of the people who have called this incredible landscape home for generations. We’re delighted that your desert adventure was such a special way to end your holiday in Egypt. Thank you for joining us, and we hope you’ll come back and explore more of the desert with us one day! Fascinating ecological and Bedouin cultural experience!

I did the sunset hike through the Red Country with Youhana as my guide. It was fascinating learning about how much life there is, experiencing the beautiful scenery and learning so much from Youhana whose enthusiasm was truly a delight! I was amazed by how much connection there is between the land and the coastal environment, having come to the region to dive. This was a great experience to couple with diving, and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting, and interested to learn more about the ecology of the region and Bedouin culture through an eco-friendly service!

Operator response

We’re delighted that you enjoyed your sunset hike through the Red Country and discovered a different side of the Red Sea region beyond the underwater world. It’s lovely to hear how much you enjoyed learning about the connections between the desert and the coastal environment. There is so much life and history hidden in these landscapes, and sharing these little discoveries with our guests is what makes our work so rewarding. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Youhana — his enthusiasm and passion for the desert are truly special! Thank you for recommending Emperor Adventure and for appreciating our approach to responsible, nature-focused tourism. We hope to welcome you back to explore more of the desert on your next visit to Marsa Alam! Warm Wishes Emperor Adventures Team

How to find water in the desert hike

I had this morning to do something. The booking was swift and in the morning the guide and a Bedouin driver picked me up and we drove about 30 minutes up the Wadi. We then started hiking with the intention of finding water. The guide pointed out signs for water underground and after about 1h 30min we found a source of fresh water and a oasis, which unfortunately was almost dried out. At the oasis the car was waiting and we went back to the hotel Wadi Sabarah lodge. A worthwhile 3h spent in the desert and I also learnt something.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed spending the morning exploring the wadi and learning more about the desert environment. Finding water in the desert is always a special experience, and we’re glad you enjoyed discovering the oasis and the signs of life hidden within the landscape. We’re also pleased that the booking process was smooth and that our guide and Bedouin driver helped make the trip enjoyable and informative. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for another desert adventure in the future! Your Emperor Adventure Team

A perfect desert excursion

I thoroughly enjoyed this desert excursion & wished I had been able to fit in another longer journey. I joined a few other adventurous spirits along with our fantastic guides Yoahnna & Adam. Their love of the desert and its history, inhabitants, & lifeforms are very much present in what they share. It is a beautiful walk, with a great viewpoint, and a fun and informative unfolding of the secrets of the water source. There is much more life than one thinks in the desert. Thank you!

Operator response

It’s great to know that the walk, viewpoints, and the story of the water source made it such a memorable trip. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Yohanna and Adam. We’d love to welcome you back for a longer adventure next time! Your Emperor Adventure Team

highly enjoyable and informative desert tour

After a short drive, we began the tour in one wadi and crossed over the hills into the next wadis. We joined the tour with Yohanna, it was really nice and informative. it was a truly unique desert experience. We saw new types of fauna, stunning mountainous terrain, and even spotted lizards and an ibex! The drive back took us along another wadi with beautiful rock formations and fascinating geological features. It took from 8am to 2pm (including a tea break and a nice rest on top a hill) Tip: wear good sneakers since some parts are a bit of a scramble

Operator response

Most inspiring afternoon

It’s one thing to go on excursions, and a whole different experience when the operator itself is great company. I did two trips with Emperor Adventure during my short stay in Marsa Alam. The first was a trek through Wadi Nabea, and the second a tour of Wadi El Gemal. As a solo traveller, I was hesitant to book at first since the company had so few reviews, but then I realized they were affiliated with the Wadi Sabrah lodge, which maintains a beautiful botanical garden on its property, as well as the reputed Emperor Diver center. I truly love the desert and was happy to find their tours, which seemed to primarily promote knowledge of the land and avoid gimmicks such as camel rides and belly dancing. A huge thanks to Asala, who coordinated everything for me on short notice and was so much fun to spend time with in Wadi Naeba, Osama for “clearing the path for us” (haha). I have an issue with heights, and should mention that 99% of the trek was really OK for me. Word of advice: bring snacks with you, the ride back to the hotel will seem very long otherwise and it will help you better enjoy the gabana (Bedouin coffee)

Operator response

Thank you so much for this wonderful 5⭐ review! We’re especially pleased to hear that you felt comfortable joining us as a solo traveller and enjoyed exploring Wadi Nabea and Wadi El Gemal with our team. Sharing authentic desert experiences and knowledge of the land is exactly what we aim for. A big thank you to Assala and Osama, and we’d love to welcome you back to the desert on your next visit to Marsa Alam! Your Emperor Adventures Team

Amazing Red Land

I had a wonderful hiking trip to the red land. Our guide knew a lot about the land, the plants, the animals and the particularities of this special place. It was amazing to see the sundown in the desert. Never felt that calm and peaceful before.
