Marrakech daytrip to Atlas Mountains & Berber family lunch, & optional hiking

Description
If you’ve explored the Marrakech medina and haggled for bargains in the sprawling souk, heard storytellers weave their magic in the Djemaa el Fna square, and dined al fresco on Moroccan cuisine, it’s time to travel further afield to discover more of the magic of Morocco. Marrakech sits in the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, North Africa’s chain of mountains linking Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Here, the High Atlas range is cut by the Draa River to the south and Imlil valley, Ourika valley, Zat valley .. to the north. There are lots of excursions to do from Marrakech to the The Berber Valleys of the High Atlas Mountains which are only about a one hour drive from the city. Here are some days tours you can do from Marrakech

Reviews(1)
Words fail me in writing this review. Mustafa is simply not only the best tour guide one could ask for, but an incredible human being. By the end of the day when it came time to say goodbye, he did so with a big, warm hug like saying goodbye to some old friends. Now to the trip itself - I don’t even know where to begin. While my partner and I opted for a visit to the Anima Garden while the rest of the group stayed for the camel ride, from then on to the Imlil area, Mustafa didn’t cease to amaze us with his knowledge and answered each and every question we had. He is hilarious to say the least and it is impossible not to feel like you’ve known him a long time as he is very warm, friendly and attentive. He is a great guide, knowing to “read” the people he’s with and making sure everyone is comfortable and feeling their best at any given time. During our visit in the Saturday market he made sure to negotiate on our behalf and had our backs when local merchants were too pushy. After an hour and a half hike in Imlil we headed to his house for what will be for a very, very long time THE BEST TAJINE we’ve had! His family is just as warm and welcoming as he is, so rest assured, you will actually feel like home. My partner and I are loner travelers, we find it hard to travel with other people as we have our own particular travel style which is why we avoid groups and tours in general but we took a chance here and it is understatements to say that we regret nothing! It was one of those magnificent, unique experiences that you want to take in and imprint in your heart and memory forever and this was possible only thanks to Mustafa! Thank you for being such an amazing guide and human being!
