Horse brutality on the carriages - don't use

I didn't take the ride after seeing the horses and I'm asking any visitors to Marrakech to please not use them. The horses are in an absolutely horrendous condition. They are so abused and neglected and are worked until the drop. It is cruel and the only people benefitting are the drivers. There are many other ways to see the city, if you book a carriage please check the state of the horses first. Only when demand for this drops will the practice cease. There are tuk-tuks available and I hope one day they will only use those.

Very informative, accommodating guide and experience

Was a fantastic experience, the guide ensured we were comfortable and was highly informative when showing us around Marrakech. He allowed us to take photos with the horses, stopped for water, and was overall accommodating.

Horse Carriage Ride in Marrakech

The horse carriage ride in Marrakech delivered a solid, low-effort way to tap into the city’s atmosphere. The route circled key zones around the medina, giving a clear line of sight to the markets, old walls, and everyday street flow. The carriage was comfortable, the ride steady, and the driver operated with professionalism. If you want a quick, relaxing overview of Marrakech without the noise and foot traffic, this experience is a smart add-on to any itinerary.

Abuse

Horses are thin and lame. Forced to wait all day still and then turn in traffic. There is no respect for animals.

Better a walk, no big deal!

They offer you a lower price to do the full one-hour tour, then at the end they make you do 40 minutes, and 10 minutes of that leave you in a shop for you to buy products.

It was a very nice and relaxing experience, just taking in the scenery. I definitely recommend it—it’s a great way to scout out places you might want to visit later.
