Lovely day in the mountains and even with a camel-ride
We really enjoyed our trip, the tour guide jawad was best troughout the trip.He was so kind and looked after everyone especially our kids by helping them on the hike.
Omar was such a good guide, he explained everything so clearly.. Highly recommend this experience. And don’t forget the amazing food.
Myself and my wife enjoyed the tour, money has definitely been well spent. Our tour guide Omar was really pleasant and a kind hearted person. We started off with camel riding in the morning, and visited valleys ( including a place where they produce natural medicine products) and went to omar’s home for lunch where we had authentic tangine and salad. Finally ended with a hike and saw a beautiful waterfall.
Fantastic Family Day in the Atlas Mountains – Special Thanks to Umar! We were a family of 6 and joined a small group with around 5 other guests for the Atlas Mountains, valleys, waterfalls and camel-riding tour. It turned out to be a long, adventurous and genuinely memorable day, and a huge part of that was our guide, Umar. From the very beginning, Umar stood out because of his knowledge, professionalism and the way he explained things. He was not simply driving us from one stop to another — he was constantly sharing information about Moroccan culture, Berber traditions, village life, the mountains, camels and the history of the people who live in these areas. The camel ride was in the Agafay area, which is a rocky desert landscape rather than the traditional sandy desert that some people may imagine when they hear “camel ride.” So if you are expecting huge sand dunes, it is worth knowing this beforehand. However, Umar actually made the experience much more interesting by explaining everything about the camels — their different types, how they are born and raised, how they are used, and what life is like around the desert. We had traditional Moroccan tea before the camel ride, which was a lovely touch. The journey through the valleys was beautiful, with several stops to enjoy the scenery and take photographs. We also visited an argan oil cooperative, where we had breakfast and learned about the lives of the local women and how they produce argan oil and other natural beauty and health products. The lady demonstrated how the products are made, which was genuinely fascinating. It was also an eye-opening experience to hear about their hard-working but simple lifestyle, far removed from the materialistic lifestyle many of us are used to. I have to admit that I found some of the products a little expensive — but my wife clearly had a different opinion! 😂 So, needless to say, we didn’t leave empty-handed! The adventure continued with more than an hour of hiking through the mountains and villages before we reached lunch. The hike was definitely one of the highlights of the day and gave us a chance to experience the landscape rather than simply seeing it from the van. Lunch was delicious, especially the vegetable tagine, which was probably my favourite part of the meal. One small area for improvement would be the meat portion, as one couple in our group felt they received quite a small amount of meat. Also, having a traditional Moroccan qahwa/coffee after lunch would be a wonderful finishing touch. ☕🇲🇦 But honestly, the biggest positive of this entire experience was Umar. His explanations were detailed, professional and clearly came from genuine knowledge and experience. He told us about Berber families, local traditions, desert life, camels, Moroccan tea and the way people live in the mountains. Because of him, the tour felt much more than just sightseeing — we actually learned something about Moroccan life and culture. For a family of 6, it was a wonderful day filled with adventure, beautiful scenery, culture, hiking, delicious food and plenty of memorable moments. If you are considering this tour, I would absolutely recommend it. And if you are lucky enough to have Umar as your guide, you are in very good hands. Thank you, Umar, for making our Atlas Mountains experience so enjoyable and memorable! 🇲🇦❤️
Omar as a guide was outstanding, he made this trip perfect. He explained everything we were interested in, all the recommendations, down to the smallest detail. Thank you once again for a beautiful experience and memories to last a lifetime!
