Marietas Islands Snorkel Tour & Hidden Beach

This was, unfortunately, the worst experience of all the tours we have taken since we arrived in Mexico. The main reason was our guide, Gustavo (“Gus”). In our experience, he did not demonstrate the communication or customer service skills necessary to lead this type of excursion. When my husband asked him a simple question to clarify how long we could stay on the beach, Gustavo reacted in a very annoyed and aggressive manner. From that point on, the atmosphere became uncomfortable and tense. During the tour, he also complained repeatedly to us about the other couples in the group. He even accused a couple of having taken his snorkel gear, when in reality he himself had handed it to them. He also criticized the poor quality of the food provided by the tour itself in front of all the participants. All of this made an experience that should have been fun and special turn out unpleasant. Furthermore, the snorkel gear they provided us did not work correctly. The mouthpiece filled with water every time we tried to breathe, which made it very difficult to enjoy the snorkeling time. Finally, when making the reservation, I clearly indicated that I needed gluten-free food due to a food allergy. Despite having paid for lunch, I was not provided with any gluten-free options. Between the price of the tour and all the additional charges, this experience cost my husband and me more than 250 dollars. Considering the service received, the defective equipment, and the lack of attention to a dietary need communicated in advance, it was definitely not worth it. We cannot recommend this experience.

We had the BEST time on our Marietas Island Snorkel & Hidden Beach Tour! 🐠🌴 Ever was the best—he was so informative, friendly, and patient throughout the entire experience. We had such an amazing time and would 10/10 recommend this tour to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta!

Carlos and Hector were awesome. They showed us wild life on the way out of the marina and along the way educated us on the Booby Birds and another bird I can’t remember the name of but these birds were diving into the water from about 20’ up around the boat for fish. It was pretty cool Then they really helped my daughter out going thru the cave. Helped calm her down and got her thru safe. Great guys

Ask for Carlos as a guide. He’s great! Long ride out to the islands but worth the ride, saw Dolphins and sea turtles along the way.

Beautiful snorkeling. The guides are very knowledgeable about all the wildlife and area. We had to wait to get access to the hidden beach, as the tide was high and very rough. They got us all in and out safely. HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Had an amazing experience. Shout out to Carlos for this experience. Carlos made me feel safe and comfortable in the water , for a novice who doesn’t know how to swim. I truly thank Carlos and Eco explorer 100% and wound give higher stars if I could. I not only felt safe but actually enjoyed the water so much ! Thank you Carlos and Eco Explorer ! Can’t wait to return for the whale watching and another snorkeling trip.

Our tour guide Carlos was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the bay the wildlife we saw. The whole trip was safety oriented and the hidden beach was magical. I will caution you that the swim thru the tunnel to the beach was a little more challenging than expected but I understand that this changes with the tide.

Everything was super, thanks to Rodrigo and Erik, very kind and attentive at all times and they are experts in what they do.

Rodri and Eric were great guides on our tour. My group had a great time and felt extremely safe. Would highly recommend.
