Tour starts with history of the wine making, followed by the winery and the active wine stills which you can see and look inside. The guide Maggie is brilliant throughout and very knowledgeable as the winery is a small concern, she puts in quite a bit of the work herself including pruning the vines and bottling and labelling the wines. The next part of the tour takes place in the actual vineyard which is a couple of miles away. Maggie waited in her car at the winery (which is next door to the old fire station on the main street) until everyone had returned to their cars (as parking close by is challenging) to allow everyone to drive their cars back to the winery so we could all drive to the vineyard in convoy so no one gets lost. Once at the vineyard still up in the hills, there are picnic benches looking over the vineyard down to the sea. Here you first taste the wines, one White, one organic White and one Rose and the amounts given for a tasting are very generous. Thereafter lunch was served that consisted of Spanish Cheese with Walnuts and local ham and biscuits all tapas style with crisps, a taste of the grapes used to make the wines and Raisins that are also sold locally. This was a brilliant thing to do in Manilva with a lovely guide, definitely worth the money and a must do.

A vineyard with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. You will get to know the wine culture of Manilva, with vineyards in danger of disappearing due to urban harassment. At CIVIMA you will discover viticulture, winemaking and wine traditions. In the same CIVIMA building is the small winery, where we make our award-winning NILVA wines. We will finish our visit in the Peñoncillo Vineyard, a very special place, with unbeatable views of the Mediterranean Sea, Africa and the Costa del Sol. There, enjoying the sea breeze, we will taste our NILVA wines. And if you want to be part of our community and collaborate with the Save the Manilva Vines Project, you can sponsor one of our strains. Once the visit is over, in a few minutes, you can take a refreshing dip in the waters of the Mediterranean or enjoy the local gastronomy of seafood and fish, such as sardine espetos, in one of the restaurants and bars located at the beach

Amazing time! Highly recommend!
This was one of the highlights of our holiday. The tour was brilliant, not too long and the guide was very engaging and enthusiastic. The wine was lovely and the setting for the tasting was romantic. Will definitely return.

Nice wine tour by enthusiastic guide
Super fun tour that starts in the company itself where the whole winemaking process and a bit of history about the vineyards in Manilva are explained. Then the wine tasting in the vineyard itself. Nice enthusiastic guide and overall a nice experience!

What a fantastic experience! Our guide Maggie was brilliant - so informative and friendly. We learnt all about the Manilva wine region and traditions. Tasting the wines at the vineyard was a lovely end to the evening, with beautiful views. Would highly recommend.

Great evening at Nilva
A fantastic wine and tapas experience delivered by Maggie. A must do if you are staying in the area. We were staying in Duquesa. The wine tastes amazing and the tasting overlooking the vineyard and sea was a real highlight of our holiday. We booked the 6:30pm tour and it was great way to spend the evening. If you enjoy wine then a trip to Nilva is a must.
